Speed limit change?

Is it just me or my system or is Soup running very slow lately. I am just curious if anyone else has noticed this because if not, then there is a good chance it is my system. I actaully timed it yesterday, I commented on a poem, which took quite long to accept but then clicked on "Poems - New (All)" and timed it. It took 27 seconds to return to that screen. I know that doesn't seem long but it is almost half a minute. I'd like to know because if it is my system, I want to look into speeding it up. It is very frustrating to sit around and wait for a creen to load.

Off and on trouble here too, Chris. You are right - video ads take more bandwidth, often take longer to load, etc. And some of the ads change, so it's not just a matter of the one webpage loading, however long that takes; there may always be something trying to load.... Pathetic, in my opinion.

Yep same thing here. But then I think back to the days when I first was on a poetry site. That crazy place took a FULL MINUTE to take each comment i made and on a slow day I was waiting two minutes. I can't believe I stuck with that site as long as I did. It was way back in 2002.

That could be it for sure Daniel. The ads have changed and many seem to be video based as well. I know they take time to load.

I saw TPS on here yesterday so they might have been doing so work on the site...I noticed that as well as a lag time in notification of about 5 mins.

YES YES YES. It's driving me completely insane. I've even started to use gmail to reach people instead of Soup Mail. I sometimes have to just shut down the browser, restart SOUP and hope I get my comments and poems out before it hangs again!

I tend to agree. On PC I tried on different browsers. The one with AdBlock loads fast, the others don't. On phone it's so insanely slow that I won't even try unless I have nothing else nearby. On phone it's even hard to navigate without constantly accidentally activating an ad.

Thanks Darren, I think it is the ad choices they are making, the page has to wait for them to load first. I could be wrong though.
