I am grateful to the person who did.  My country is broken and the reason I've been scarce around here is that I'm spending most of my spare hours working in ways other than writing poetry to help fix it.  I miss writing, but love reading soup stuff.. please know that your talent and insights are stunning to me, and feed me in nourishing ways.  Many thanks, namaste ~N

America's greatness and prosperity was built on the strength of her working and middle classes. Together, we — the 99 percent — built the world's strongest democracy, enforced the rule of law, provided for the common defense, promoted the general welfare, established an ever-rising standard of justice, ensured domestic tranquility, and secured the blessings of liberty for many generations of American families.

Now, our 99 percent way of life is gone, devoured by an elite 1 percent who took over our own government and used it against us to seize both the personal and the common wealth amassed for us by generations of our ancestors and provided to us by the bounty of this land.

We want our American birthright back. We want to restore rule by the 99 percent. We want the elites to return our futures and our government to us. We will challenge them by every means we can find until this happens.

We are not going away. Their 1 percent's dream of an American feudal state is over. Our American dream of sustainable prosperity and opportunity for the rest of us is now beginning — again.

Who will battle for the working man, not the White House, not the Democrats, not the Republicans. There was no attempt to bring civil rights until the rioting started. There will be no attempt by our bought off politicians until the rioting starts again. Both parties have declared an all out war against the middle class. Most will pat you on the back while picking your pocket.

In fact, if you're interested and want to hear the best talk on this topic that I've heard, check out this 20 minute youtube clip. Is the most educational I've heard on the Occupy movement so far. http://www.occupywallstvideos.com/video/chris-hedges-and-occupy-debate-black-bloc-violence

Most of the government workers are 99 percenters, too. The one percent wants to keep us as divided as possible, so they make us resent each other and that distracts us from getting to the real problem. Read about Alec. Read about Citizens United. We are not going away.

Way to go Nancy. Sorry for my digression from your blog. There does seem to be an awful lot of waste in government.

I'd like that job - the museum one. Our museum here is a volunteer only staff - there are no fuinds at all. We can barely pay the lectric bill. This is in Sanford, the same town that got all the publicity for a homicide. The media elite come when they can get sensation, but not history. Sorry for the rant.

I just love you. Go get 'em, Tiger. I am in awe of your commitment. There are days I feel like I should be shaking our city hall's flag pole, too. My husband has been researching city positions and how much you make in a government job. One of our city run museums has an opening for basically a cashier/customer service position. No experience really necessary. The job pays $8 an hour more than he makes and he works in a gruelling environment with potential health dangers-- exposure to exteme heat and lead. He works in a foundry... one person lost their thumb a year ago... and here is this cushy job in a quiet environment that provides a cushier paycheque. We are living, basically, hand to mouth. I chose to eat healthy but can't buy a new bra. Many don't feel anger but a sense of having their hands tied, that nothing can or will ever change. I tell my husband, "Their have been revolutions throughout history. We are due one." Bless you love. Namaste right back at ya. Thanks for poppin in
