My name is Timothy Hicks, and I've been writing for 5 years now, since I was 13. My main hobbies include writing, playing my piano, origami and bicycling.

I'm a bit OCD about some things and some would refer to me as a nervous pacer. I like to do outdoor activities, but at the same enjoy my alone time where I can sit and write. I'm a very avid reader and enjoy several different genres: horror, science-fiction, fantasy, and mysteries such as Sherlock Holmes.

I've had several different jobs including shakerboarder, pizza-make and cotton candy maker-and-distributor.

I like to think of myself as someone that can fit into almost any crowd and I always try to stay on the bright side of things. I swear very little and hardly ever get mad at people. I believe spreading smiles is a much better practice than sharing negativity...

Well I finally made it guys!

I arrived at Georgia yesterday evening to my brothers place, and setting home in an RV in the backyard. It sorta reminds me of regular living mixed wth camping so far ... It's a beautiful area in the country side with his 13 acre place. There's a pond, some barns, half a dozen chickens, lots of trees, and you can even go hunting, if that's your thing, in your own backyard. Some things I've noticed that's different here is there's a lord more background night noises than in Idaho. While I'm typing this out there's the sound of cicadas and bullfrogs right behind me. The insects are plenty and ginormous (saw a weird bee just today that looked almost like it had orange stripes instead of yellow).

Of course it's a lot more humid here, but so far it doesn't seem too bad ... The best way I've always learned to deal with heat is too just ignore it as best you can and pretend like it doesn't exist, and drink tons of water.

Still trying to get everything situated to make it feel more like home ... I've always wanted to go for more minimilastic living and this is a great opportunity. In a few days, or maybe a bit longer, I'll try to get ahold of the baseball manager and see if I can find work at the stadium again.

That's all for now soupers (hard to type all this on a phone ... Lol)

-Tim

Thanks Charmaine. It's a breath of fresh air in many ways ... been spending a lot more time outside than I ever have before. But I got to be careful too ... my fair skin burns really easy.

Thanks Suz! I have an interview with the general manager tomorrow, so wish me luck! Always a mix of excitement and nervousness getting a new job, but it's nice that the stadium is much bigger and stay opens 2 months longer than the one in Idaho.

OH BOY, just wait till mid summer. You will be longing for Utah/Idaho type of heat! When I first came to Utah it was August, and I felt like I was in an oven. Then I got used to it and now I can't stand the thought of that humidity I grew up with in Iowa. yes, we had more insect sounds in Iowa than in Utah too. I bet you will enjoy it there. Do they have fireflies? I sure miss those cute little bugs flying around on summer nights.

I've written about fireflies but how much cooler it is to see them in person :)

Thanks Linda. I'm in Rome, Georgia, in the upper left corner of the state ... very close to Alabama. I haven't seen a lot of RVs ... but then I again I'm still not super familiar with the area. The weather is really nice right now, but I'm told it's brutal at the peak of summer ...

Hiya, Tim. Your new home will be sweet once you've settled in. You'll soon realize the cicadas and frogs are singing you to sleep. lol Humidity will take a titch longer to get used to, but it's better than dry air, and you'll love the rain instead of snow. Besides, your family is with you, so enjoy them. Well wishes for the job prospect.

Thank you Lin! I do enjoy the cicadas and bull frog noises :) I have an interview with the general manager tomorrow ... wish me luck! It has a 1,000 more seats than the last stadium worked at, so it's much bigger ...

Pleased that you have arrived in the promised land, Timothy....at least it did not take you 40 years:) Having an RV for your own personal home sounds really good. Even the countryside where you're staying sounds great! Hope you'll soon settle in. All the best....paul
