Born and raised most of my childhood in the Mexican border town of Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Have been writing poetry most of my life for some still-undiscovered reason.
So, today I joined this site. My main incentive was the ability to post the poems with the audio file. I'd never really read my poems aloud, so here was an opportunity! Little did I know how much of a SKILL it is to recite poetry; Even your own, even when you know EXACTLY what it is meant to sound like. I did ok enough to not embarrass myself, but I still can hear in my mind how it should sound. It makes me feel overwhelmed at how much more work I just heaped onto myself. Shoud be fun though.
The two from today, chosen semi randomly, take place at extremely different types of social gatherings. On one end we have a fancy cocktail party and on the other a loud, unsettling rave. On one, our protagonist finally gets to break the ice with the woman he'd been pursuing while on the other, love is but an abstraction from a song.
