I wrote since my elementary days, but I stopped..Just lately, maybe brought about by challenging situations and so much free time, I started to write, again....Most of my compositions talk about my day to day thoughts, my reflections, my experiences with the world and with God, events and whatever crosses my mind....It is a transparent "me" and I hope to whoever will read , they will be inspired one way or another..

Most of my compositions are triggered by contests sponsored by the Premium Soup Members, probably joining time to time from these, it developed and enhanced my writing in a way. Anyhow, I always managed to put myself within these poems. I can say that writing poems is now one of my fave hobbies.

I am a learner of poetry. This is definitely shown in my poems, different types and different subjects... I am a Filipina, born August 13, 1986. English is not my native tongue. I render care with all kinds of people regardless of creed, age, religion and race.

Instead of speaking up, I intend to burst it all to poetry and by just singing........................... :) some will criticize as it is full of emotions or its "emo" but it is alright.. :) all I want to do is to express the things, I can't seem to say.

my compositions are my "hide outs", my fantasies,, my dreams and so long yearnings. I don't collect material things as like shoes, books, cds, paintings or so. however, these are my collections: MY POEMS. :)!

I have been here in Poetrysoup long while now and been exchanging mails to some. I am glad that I found a family here, it's just sad sometimes that each and everyone is just too far.. Anyhow, I am saddened each and everytime I hear some news about some friends here who is undergoing trials such as loss and the threat of illness to life. Though we all are passing through trials, some have worse situations than us.

Jan Allison and Anne Lise Andresen are my... our friends here in Soup. One way or another they have been in such. and maybe some others too whom I don't know here but they are undergoing same battle.

I can only offer my prayers that you will all be comforted and strengthened...I believe such things happen for a purpose. I believe you will surpass all these . Though sometimes it does really hurt, I believe, God will carry you through all these... our Father God shall uplift you and comfort you. Hugs and hugs..

And some of the Biblical verse I read:

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

this is a beautiful and caring blog, Olive. I have always felt that you have a special heart. Hope you stay with us here always!! And prayers to all our lovely friends like Jan and Anne Lise with trials. I know so many that have things going on in their lives right now. it's staggering sometimes to think of the number of people I see with problems! Just keep being the fantastic friend you are!

Many verses in Psalms tell us to call upon Him always... And yes truly surrender to Him...... Andie I was blessed when I entered here in Soup see I was not really a writer but perhaps God resurrect this gift from me when I was in Saudi to allow me to cope with my loneliness there.. And He allowed this to happen for me to know you and others who are really are good persons... The poems that I read during those are God's way to inspire me... Thanks to the aurthors..

Yes Andie each of us are facing our own battle for a better life, a better living. Sometimes really they will bend us to the extreme but weeee our Father God is bigger than these... And so are we... It's not at all easy but I truly believe if we go on and continue despite such later we will be blessed from glory to glory..

Olive, this is a very thoughtful and caring way to show your love to these lovely ladies. Bless you for it. Anne Lise...May God strengthen you as you care for your ailing father. May you find the strength you need to see you through. It isn't easy having a sick parent. I live with my Mama's illness for years...MS...and seeing her deteriorate and finally pass away was so difficult for me. My thoughts are with you. Jan...we always carry them in our hearts. They are always with us for the live on in our thoughts and memories. Love to you all....

And during those trying times there I learned and experience God in my life... As in every decision I make I start with a prayer and lifting it all to Him... We are all strong but I believe as we will callnon God's Name we'll be stronger... Anne Lise my friend, you have done it for the last 4 years giving all your best...

It is hard indeed to be positive or so when it seems things aren't going as we want it to be... I may not have the same experience yet but I had been in a hopeless situation.. but I keep on going... Yes I was tired mentally and physically.. there are sleepless nights too etc.. but I realpy hold on... And learned to surrender everything...

Yes Anne Lise our friend, you aren't alone.. God is with you and so us here... I am sorry that things seem so hopeless but I truly believethat God will make a way when there seems no way... He said so that anything we ask for in prayer we believe and it will be given..

Indeed, all things shall pass such as these trials and life itself, Eileen... and thereafter there is bliss..In Galatians 6:9, it says we shouldn't be weary in doing good ... for after we will reap the harvest....... And yes we hope that someday we will see our love ones in a place where no more sufferings and all..

- Thank supportive words, I have nursed my father for 4 years now - My mother died four years ago, she was unable to care my father all day - he became sick two years before she died - I know I'm not alone with my "battle" - But, I'm so tired .... so tired - And everything feels so hopeless - A big responsibility 24 hours a day - hugs Anne-Lise <3

Andrea...It was a very trying time for us all. Mama had faith, and I believe I will see her again one day...healthy, strong, and beautiful. This life is but a taste of an eternity of bliss. This too shall pass. Hugs

Sad about your mom and the disease that she had to suffer with. I really feel for Armand too, having to stay all day with his mother who is withering away like yours did, except with alzhiemers. i think many of us are getting up there in our years now and we will be coping more and more with such things that will develop in our loved ones.

this is really sad news to hear about your country, Anne Lise. yes, it almost seems like a human has to be dead to get help.That is what i see all the time when i watch shows about people also being stalked by crazy people, and nobody helps them until the stalkers kill them. That is off topic, and yet it another example of the great injustices in the world

Mot only Norway Anne Lise other countries have such situations.. :( Funds that came from pockets of citizens aren't utilized accordingly.. and sometimes citizens needs to wait.. Yes there are procedures to be done prior to usage but must it be so hard to some who needs it immediately??!!!

:( that's another sad news Anne Lise.. See even my father here, he just turned 60 and immediately after HE should receive his pensions but to his dismay, they said he will get this regardless when he is 65, and muc more when he will not have any income anymore.. :( that's so sad for he has work for such..... he should atleast be enjoying the benefits of what he worked for... .... :( sometimes I wonder why a little help esp from the government is so hard to be released..

I think of the good memories they have left me..... it's not that am used to such situation for when I worked in the hospital I see life and death passing before my eyes.. but when it is your love one it is hard.. but through prayers, i was appeased.

When my grandparents passed away an I was tasked to do the eulogy... I cried for the loss but then I always still thank God for the years I spent with them.. those wonderful years and so am looking forward to see them again one day..

Isaiah is one of the books in the Bible that I so like to read.... it's very uplifting.. Aside from that in a way, it is so poetic.. :) It's okei if you aren't religious. My intentions are to inspire you and to say my wishes..

Olive, I love the message within your blog, so encouraging to those suffering and I have something to tell you about your quote Isaiah 43.2, I was in the hospital at deaths doorstep and I went to the hospital chapel, picked in the catholic bible and it opened on the page of this quote, it touched me deeply and I wrote it down and kept it with me, and it comforted me through my illness and as you see I am here to talk about it, thank you for a beautiful blog . . .
