Hello fellow soupers! I'm receiving several soupmails asking what the line of inquiry 'I Am' means. I assumed it was evident since PS has devoted a section on it in poetry category but anyway, here goes:
When we say, I am xxx, the name we have or the attribute we have, the talent or possessions we have, the skills we imagine we possess, we are talking about mind-body identity or ego. So, begin with 'I Am' and pause. We know we are, the awareness, the aliveness, the consciousness independent of personality, the transient organic form we ensoul.
Dwell only on 'I Am' without narrow identity, without conditioned belief, without thought constructs. What is this awareness, immediate and intimate, vibrant and pulsating, virgin and sagacious, the witness to all comings and goings, eternal and immutable?
There are several YouTube videos and poems written on the 'I Am' theme. You can look at them if you like but each spark of creativity is unique. I'd urge you to dive in, within, the deepest recesses of your heart, in perfect brilliant stillness and feel rather than think, what the truth is. God bless.
