Janis Thompson is a retired educator whose career involved teaching high school English, being a reading specialist and an administrator.   She is a mother and a grandmother of two who has been writing poetry since childhood.  Janis has a Bachelor's Degree from Juniata College and a Master's from Johns Hopkins University.  She enjoys watching vintage movies.

Congratulations to all the winners.  It was a very hard contest to judge.  There were so many fine examples.  However, I tried to adhere to what was outlined in the contest guidelines as much as possible.

The world appears to be a lovelier place because of your chokas.

Thanks so much for this contest. I was able to use something that happened in my life during the time of your hosting this contest, to be able to use this lovely poetry form to describe that small event. Congrats to all your winners.
