Dear friends in poetry,

If there are any of you out there who would like to TRY to get your poems published, I will start a blog to advise you where to send here IF you contact me below. I would like to work with 10 poets on new unpublished poems (they can NOT be posted on Soup). We will work on them through email aleezadelta(at)aol(dot)com. The first 10 people who asked will be given my help in editing. ALSO, I will post places you can send in my blogs where MOST will have a high likelihood of being accepted for publication.

Let me know in the comments below.

Light & Love Debbie

Kind of a Hurricane Press

Try taking a look at Page & Spine & Literary Hatchet

The editor is A. J. Huffman & she is a very kind & helpful person focused more on content then grammar (she will make corrections as suggestions IF she likes the feel of the verse). Make sure you have a cover letter ready to go with your submissions.

For those who are going to submit we will try for 3 polished pieces, please read the article below.

Arthur Is located in Canada. Canada is very supportive of the arts including writing! The UK, Canada, Australia & New Zealand are all easier to get published in than the USA & more likely to pay.

Debbie, what a great thing you are doing for poets who want to publish. As we have talked before, I write only for me and that is enough. All my poetry is on PS except one box left to post that I am working on to submit. Then, everything will be posted. Lots of my poetry has been lost and one just cannot re-create it from memory, and although that breaks my heart, I accept it. As my health is fragile, I had asked my sister to bury my poems with me when I pass away, though we doubted that would be possible, but now they will linger on PS until there is no PS, that's enough. And then they will be gone.

Constance's work is very publishable but she has always taken this position Craig & she is a prolific writer so I'm sure she could whip up a new one. She feels safe trusting her heart with us

Do NOT want to hear that from you Constance---listen, pick one of your favs from your list then save it and delete it (no longer published--bingo) then put it through your lovely sieve and make it even better. BTW, your poems are your life eternal, bury them NOT!

Btw, I checked out the Jellyfish Whispers blog you linked because it sounded really interesting to me. How often are they publishing? Looks like their last blog post was over six months ago with nothing since - are they still active?

Hi Debbie, thank you for the generous offer. I would be interested as well, if you have room for another poet. I have not been posting much on soup lately, because I am getting serious about the whole publishing thing. Do I just email you a poem? Several? Thanks!

So, if I'm reading your comments correctly I should expect verses from Chris & Greg?

Thank you Debbie, but I've had my ego both lauded and demeaned enough, I'll let someone else enjoy the good old fashioned universe of rejection and prom invitations. If anyone wants input from a bozo I'll help though.

What a lovely thing to say Craig, I was very unhappy to feel I had lost you as a friend forever & also very happy to hear from you again. Light & Love

Backatcha Debbie, you're a sweetheart and have always been so unselfish sharing with everyone on the soup and elsewhere. Have you got attitude yes! Who the heck likes boring poets, myself included LOL--Hugs

Sorry for butting in Debbie but I'm doing so to applaud you for helping as you've done many times before. Most of my published work is through your guidance and though I decided not to continue for my own reasons, there is something special well beyond our humble space here because for someone who is a true professional to choose your art for their anthology/magazine/or whatever because it's a legitimate honor to be cherished - especially the first few times. Then, you sort of have to go, like all else, to where you think you want to grow or (most so) what floats your creative boat and what your eventual goals are. It is very kind of you Debbie to help with this.

I might add (Cuz it's what I did), submit the poem for publication (Deb won't tell you this cuz she's more honest), change the title on the soup and if it's chosen remove it from the soup, because those cherished comments (for Most) will be lost but worth it to be honored. Also, because most are not paid for, especially at first, the FBI have better things to do like chase Russian cheating - but then - never mind. The bottom line is that the least of your initial issues will be whether or not it's the 140th poem you posted - no one is watching nor cares but they do care, unlike your friends here, whether your write is "polished"--Deb will help with that.

Are you looking for anything in particular Debbie? I mean a style, form, length, etc?

Personally I am not looking for anything particular BUT publishers chose shorter works most often & the sonnet form has a good chance. Are you going to try Chris? Free Verse is very popular too.

For all the poets knocking on the door- May your poems find the sunny shore- Like bottled dreams washing ashore- Beckoning to become uncorked and more- As the sun peeks your horizons at the core- The beauty from your blue skies for evermore- To some day leave your footprints of lore- To all the aspiring poets I wish you success, galore-

I would be interested, Debbie ... most of my work is here, but I've been saving some in anticipation of submission (somewhere) in the future, and writing new material daily. Please let me know what you require of me. Thank you! :-) <3
