**I am English and began writing poetry at the turn of this century. My early interest was in short forms,.I created and promoted quite a few here on PS (perhaps my best known is the Footle). With encouragement from a member here I moved onto to longer forms, publishing my poetry in print, blog ,and twitter .I came to conclude that all poetry is structured prose and remains a work in progress until recited aloud, (the apex of our art form) when a unique experience 'an as is moment' occurs between voice and ear, much the same as the experience that happens when viewing a work of art

****MY REGULAR POETRY CONTESTS are
Any form or none, any theme, max of UPTO 20 lines(Entry limit of 35poems).Alternate between Premiere and Standard formats. No name or identifying marks on entries.Successful poems from other PS contests are always welcome in my contests.
I follow closely PS sponsor guidelines in judging entries firstly on initial read to determine if entry advances to second round.Entry is then read again to determine final placings of the poems that have appealed(communed) to me.
I do not 'judge' whether a poem conforms to its labelled form. The 'poetics '( insight and feeling etc) of the poem is the only thing which counts, whether one line or twenty.
Each read 'read' is thus a unique 'as is ' happening between me and the poet and this 'communion' is the basis of my 'judgement' ,and why I accept re-entries from mine and others earlier PS contests.
The poetry entered in my contest is the only place I read poems on PS and thus have no knowledge of the author of any entry to my contest at the time of the read.
There are no prizes in my contests ,just podiums and placings as appropriate.
Only when I check the 'Contest Winners/Status link do I find out who authored the 'winning 'and placed poems.
