I know this is going to sound like a petty, cheesy and useless rant but I feel though I need to vent. I like seemingly everyone else in the world have been sucked into the world of instant communications i.e, cell phones. I see the need for this overblown technology, however I am not one for in my opinion all of the useless extras like text messages, games and you tube on my phone. I use it just like it was intended A PHONE. Though sadly I understand progress and the capitalistic need to exploit and squeeze every penny out of everything. That being said I found myself being in need of something more economical then my prepaid was offering, so a good friend of mine gave me a phone that she no longer used since she upgraded.

Delighted by her generosity I took it to the nearest store to activate it. The rep was very helpful and told me that he could indeed activate it but that since the phone was web capable I would have to get a plan with web access. Not particularly thrilled with the idea, I thought no big deal the phone was free to me so that was fine, so the rep told me of a brand new wonderful plan that fit the bill budget wise so I agreed. However since the plan was so new he didn't have all of the info necessary to activate it at that time and asked if I could return tomorrow to complete the transaction, ok no problem I said. Well as requested I went back today to finish where we had left off and was informed that he could not locate any additional information on this new rate plan he offered the previous day, and proceeded to offer other plans that were considerably higher.

Not unfamiliar with the old bait and switch maneuver I began an intensive interrogation of this rep and his boss that made them squirm. I have to admit it was quite gratifying to watch those two fidget and stammer under scrutiny when asked why in the hell they would offer a plan to a potential customer when they were not able to deliver ? neither was able to offer an answer beyond gibberish and double talk. Waving a wad of cash under both of their noses I explained to them why it was walking out the door and that I would send their regards to the store down the road along with a new customer and fistful of cash. As I was leaving I could hear the boss explaining to his soon to be ex employee what dumb M*****F***** he was for offering stuff he could not deliver. It is stories like this that speak volumes about our economy, piss poor training, lieing to people, and absolutely no clue of common sense. As petty and materialistic as this rant is I thought it was relevant for the current times. See you later with more useless crapola from a slave
