Kim Merryman Biography

   Hi! My name is Kim Merryman. I was born April 27, 1959 in Louisville, KY but grew up in Rancho Cordova, CA. My husband's name is Rob. We were married on May 30, 1981 and we have two grown sons named Daniel and Matthew, and a black cat named Max.

    I currently live in Niceville, FL located in the Florida Panhandle, near Eglin AFB. With my husband being in the Air Force we have moved around a little. We have lived in California, Florida, Texas, Okinawa and North Carolina.

    I am a Christian and many of my poems reflect that. I've only been writing poetry for 7 years. Most of my inspiration comes while I'm reading my Bible.

     My other interests include reading, crocheting, counted-cross stitch, and playing Scrabble.

     I'm so glad I found Poetry Soup. Since becoming a member I have learned so many new forms. The contests have stretched my creativity and the positive comments are so encouraging. Even though I've never met you, I feel like I know you. Looking forward to a long, happy relationship with all of you.

A Query for Q

Hi, Soupers! I need your input. The next letter in the Pleiades contests is "Q". This is a very challlenging letter as you all know. I did one called "Quake", but you really are limited by Q words. So I'm going to take a poll : Should I host a Q contest or skip it and go to R? Leave me your answer in a comment and we'll see what happens! Blessings, Kim M

Hmm, it's too challenging, IMO. I don't think the contest will fill with "Q", but it definitely will with "R"

Kim, I doubt the q poems would flow well and even make sense, I would rather move on to R but if you decide to do q I will try my very best, love _Constance

Gosh, I don't know. I'd be willing to give it a try, but you might get a better response by moving on to "R." Who knows? OTOH, it would be interesting to see how Soupers deal with "Q."
