Well folks on my morning walks as usual. However, this morning was a bit different from my other mornings. There I was strolling along as happily as you please, enjoying the fresh air and admiring the beautiful wild flowers that grew along the way.My thoughts were on the beautiful views mother nature offers when out of the corner of my eye, I spied something truly colorful. As I looked down ,my blood ran cold because I was looking at a snake, aproximately 15 inches long. It was lying very still in my path with it's head reared for attack. After realizing that I was about to step on its tail, I did a most undignified hop, skip and a jump.( totally shocking my 62 year old frame) To my surprise the snake did not move. My adrenaline pumped furiously as I stood looking at it for a while. I hurled a couple of sticks at it but it remained still. My next thought was that it was probably dead. However, the next instant it reared up and slithered into the tall grass . My question is this "why did it not attack me? Why did it remain still until after I had passed? Hope someone can give me an answer.
I have taken a few days off from walking because I still get the shivers whenever I think of that creature.
Love to all always,
Meg.
