A Letter To My Dearly Departed

I've been lying here in ache,
this past week I've been awake.
I roll over and groan,
I can't believe you are gone.
Can you hear my chest pump,
as I tug at this lump?
I need this chaos to be over,
please,God, give me strength and composure.

I gnash my teeth my head is pounding,
perks of no sleep and in drink I've been drowning.
I glare at the sun in its glistening glory,
I hate it, I'd rather it be dark and lowly.
I lie in our bed,my bed,the bed,
and in silence I wonder, has the dog been fed?
It's been a month now or a week or two past,
and I really need to know how long this will last.

I miss you,you know
your smile and radiant glow
I miss you,you know,
'tis why I let my tears flow
and they died you should know,
the poor trees we tried to grow
but I miss you and hope you know,
more love I wish I could show.

A poem from the heart. Your words make the reader feel your pain. Sorry for your loss. Great poem.
