Your Smile

Your Smile

Sleep well my Son, watch over us please, for our days are as dark as our nights.
We can’t see you, but we feel you, “Will you please turn on the lights”?
The darkness masks your smiling face, and the way you lit the room,
Please illuminate the skies, and rekindle our hearts, for it will never be too soon.

How we long to see, just a glimpse of you, to remove our doubt and sorrow,
That you are resting well, and content with all, you had left until tomorrow.
Are the star filled skies your wandering eyes, to ensure that we are well,
Is the gentle rain your tears of joy, we miss you, please do tell.

Did you tire of life, I doubt it so, for you loved and treasured your days,
What twist of fate, what possible cause, would entice your focused ways.
Did God ask for you, and your beloved heart, to help these troubled times?
What strength you have, what love you give, so selfless, so sublime.

Watch over your Mother, and dearest Alyssa, and please do comfort your friends,
Protect them, support them, love them, and guide them, until time’s bitter end.
Let the change of Seasons reflect, your smile, your contentment, and your strife
Use the sun, use the moon, use the rain, use the snow to remind us of your life.

I miss you Son, but I’ll see you soon, for your light from Heaven does shine,
I see your rays, and I feel your warmth, and embrace your love that’s mine.
For time is but a mere illusion, just a cruel and lengthened journey,
For you have never gone, your by my side, please stay with me an eternity.
