My Dad the Adulterer

MY DAD THE ADULTERER

I still remember the first day I met my half-sibling,
It was a random meeting that didn't have any bearing on my life at the time,
I had no idea what it really meant, I was only 6 at the time.

Now that I am 35,
I feel the affects every day.
It is the fear that keeps me from unattached.
It is the impetus for anger toward every man that ever lived.
It is the resentment for knowing very little about my other siblings.
It is the worry that my dad will never comment.

Maybe when I can take the leap of faith to actually give my heart to a man,
I will know that my dad is forgiven.

Whoa! Poignant write this! It's apalling that many families are wounded due to the actions of those who are supposed to protect them. Well written Cassandra!
