The Struggle

New year, new me
But it's hard to stop
No alcohol but I'll have a pint
 No drugs 3 for 100
They say break the cycle But the bike won't turn

Be strong they say, But the fight is hard
I want to stop, but the light won't pop
Lines on a plate, I'm with my mate
Out for a pint, ends up nights

Life feels amazing it's never gonna stutter
Reality is you'll be in the gutter
Wages are in I'm feeling flush
Skint in a week for chasing a rush

Family at home feeling the love
You lost it all for the high like a dove
But it's all okay I've all my mates
No mate you don't, it's nothing but hates

You believe they all love you
They've got your back
But when the time really comes
You've nothing but jack

Bag after bag im in control
Behind the wheel car starts to roll

Bottles and bottles out in the bin
Clink after clink it's only a drink
Deeper and deeper you fall down the hole
Darker and darker you've lost your soul

You look for the light, you feel your fight
Every decision never feels right
Your busting for help, but to scared to show
Hopefully one day the confidence will grow

It comes to and end your all on your own
Every penny you had totally blown
You've lost all those mates, lonely and sad
All those memories the good and the bad

You reach out for help and come out with it all
You hit that thing hard, wide and so tall
You never believed that it would all start to fall

Arm round the shoulder
A shoulder to cry
Please let it end
I promise to try
