Nostalgia

Nostalgia is a longing for a person or a place that evokes happy memories. Its an
Oasis for the soul that harbors in the center of our hearts and draws us back to the
Safe haven of our most sacred places.  It contains the pull of an all familiar feeling;
Territorial as a tug boat in the sea it has the ability to transport us without notice
Across the miles of our present, into the deep abyss of our past. It is often said that
Love is always remembered by the way it made us feel, and places by their scent;
Granny's peppermint candies and mother's garlic sauce, are two precious memoirs
I often go back to my first teachers and lose myself in recollection of home. It was
An era of youthful abandon. Golden days full of spirited living and so much love.

Then I Saw the Light

Too many years spent in depression buried beneath a pile of regrets
pills of every color aside my glass, cuts of every size scabs included
Broken pieces of my heart scattered from Newfoundland to Toronto
I'd forgotten the taste of content and the sound of jabbering friends

They tried to help me by taking me to therapy but I cried myself to sleep
every time I spoke to him, about my childhood pain and the awful abuse
One day I decided to go visit an old chapel that kept their side door open
this kind woman let me in and ushered me into a back pew then left

I felt a rush of panic, all I wanted was to run but then I began to talk
the words spilled out of my heart, onto a crucifix of pewter and gold
I told him all my secret fears and all the things my mind struggled with
gazing upon that cross I suddenly realized that he'd been broken too

On a crumpled piece of paper I scratched out three words " I choose life "
then I left the chapel door open and walked out into the sun, alive...
Its not like I cured myself all at once it took time, but I finally did it
one day at a time , first I crawled, then I walked, then I saw the light.

A Tribute To Victor Buhagiar

He's a gentleman who knows the meaning of grace
he has earned my respect and my great admiration
Bless his beating heart for all the good he has done
through each poem and life story, this poet glows

He delivers life on quilled words of rich tapestry
and he is also cultured in passion and wisdom
Today I honor him for all the love he imparts
this is a tribute to Victor, for he deserves the best

May God keep him strong healthy and sane of mind
and as he lives each day to his utmost capacity
I thank God, for good friends are often hard to find
thank you Victor for your love, friendship, & poems.

As I Dream

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeJWKSbbq68 There beyond the afterlife a glimpse of a passing star an orbing light that flickers in submergence with the dawn The memories of a life exuding all that none can mar a revival of affection, in shades of gold and brawn Way down yonder my lonely thoughts explore aside your Divine Light and Radiance this hungry heart is wanting more I dip inside a memory like an old romance Dancing dreams of lovers flickering so bright a pacification of senses, I am bathed in your light there beyond the afterlife a glimpse, a shooting star I would love to meet you once again but you live way to far.

In The Midst Of Winter

"In the midst of winter I found there was within me an invincible summer. That makes me happy because it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me there’s something stronger something better, pushing right back." Words by: Albert Camus in the midst of winter a rush of wind comes my way moving me forward it doesn't matter the push and pull of the world I seek my own life each day I cradle the hours of my existence, giving them my best.

Clair De Lune

When evening dusk falls from the edge of night
like a loosened taffeta from bridal halls
the wrist pulse slows as the stars align
their talisman to keyon thoughts of you
She dances to the steps of light
like a wild specimen heralding dark graphite
tuning herself into the rocking motion
of a philanthropic ocean;

She is your clair de lune, your telling rune
beneath the velvet cloak of a thickening eve
she sends you dreams of love and fantasies
that reign as easily as gliding rain
into your hungry heart....

10 Things Every Woman Should Know

Everyone has rolls when they bend over When someone tells you you're beautiful believe them, they aren't lying Sometimes we all wake up with breath that could kill a goat For every woman glum about stretch marks another wishes she had them. You should have more confidence, if you saw yourself the way others do, you would Don't look for a man to save you, be ready to save yourself It's okay to not love every part of your body, but you should. We all have 1 friend who seems to have it together. The one with the perfect life, well, you might be that woman to someone else; You should be a priority not an option, a last resort or a backup plan You are a woman, that alone makes you pretty damn remarkable ! A Dedication To Ink Empress

She's like the night, a lampshade lit across the room
also a rose in a summer garden always ready to bloom
She's like a thousand stars surrounding the moon
a celestial scene of beauty here then gone too soon

Ink Empress of the site she comments like an Angel
always kind and always perceptive she enables
Ink Empress of my heart, you make me grateful
for you read my poetry but, you never label...

You are a cyber friend from afar a leading star
a Paridot of the sky with a hue one cannot mar
Without soul blemish you always win by far
for your kindness and gentleness, is on par

Ink Empress of the night you contain so my sight,
that even the quill of a bird, can see your light.

He Thought Of Roses And He Thought Of Me

He knew how to turn up the soil and seed,
Before the sun got hot by summer's glade;
And on his lips recounting roses creed
He gently viewed them as they swayed;
Together in a garden built of tweed
A bloom-vestige of grace, softly arrayed;
And as the gardener drank his amber tea,
he thought of roses and he thought of me.

A Winter Sonata Of Love

Dance me to the moon on a wintry day of snow and glistening light Hold me in your arms and make me swoon like love does on a winter tide Beneath a parapet of stars where baby deer do scamper without fright, sway me like a leaf on a branch when pirouetting winds arrive; Lacey touch soft as velvet on my shoulders fair, draw me closer to your breast keep me warm inside the winds of this candy cane December. Set my heart aglow dance me to the end of me, then twirl me round and round like a fancy carrousel I will be your wintry moon, and you can be my savant star.
