Cherries

There once was a girl named Mary,
And her favorite food was the cherry.
Not chicken or cheese,
Not noodles or peas,
She wouldn’t even eat a berry.

Her mother offered her pie,
But Mary would only cry.
She gave her rice,
She even tried mice,
But Mary would only sigh.

Mary bought 6 kilos of cherry.
Her father started to get weary.
But Mary ate,
Without a wait,
She ate as much as she’d carry.

The cherries took over the house,
There wasn’t even space for a mouse.
They covered each floor,
They broke down the door,
They stained Mary’s favorite blouse.

And sadly, the house broke down,
Then her father announced with a frown:
From now on you’ll eat,
Veggies and meat,
Otherwise in cherries we’d drown.

Knowledge

My teacher asks what's 3 times 3?
I answer "It is Germany!"
-"In What country are we at the time?"
My answer is "Of course it's nine!"

My Room

Bits of rubber, tape, and glue,
A bed that once looked very new.
Overstuffed shelves covered in dust,
Tables and chairs, creaky with rust.
Crumpled papers, an overturned lamp,
My dirty old covers, sweaty and damp.
Cardboard and glitter and paint and wire,
Several pieces of my dad's flat tire.
Banana peels, an apple core,
A half-eaten pizza on the floor.
A grilled cheese sandwich, moldy and green,
Maybe sometime I'll start to clean...

To-Do List

Do the dishes, sweep the floor,
Clean the windows, fix the door.

Study your math, practice the flute,
Water the plant, and sew your boot.

Wash your T-shirt, take out the trash,
Go buy some fruit, but first find some cash.

Email your teachers, fix the toaster,
Wipe the table, make a science fair poster.

Finish your project, practice your song,
Make sure no answers on the homework are wrong.

Go play piano, cook up some dinner,
Don’t forget to be the science fair winner.

Lay's Potato Chips

Crispy, crunchy, baked to perfection.
Sparkling, golden, a mouth-watering complexion.
That feeling of joy sparks through your soul,
As you reach into the overflowing bowl.
Your taste buds are totally astound,
As you bite on the chip, so perfectly round.
Lightly salted and thinly chopped,
Baked and flaked and cropped and popped.

My Blue Cheese Is Fish

Greasy fish, swimming in oil,
Helplessly lying on my plate.
It makes my taste buds boil and toil,
I guarantee, it’s less than great.
It’s shapeless, floppy, and limp like worms,
It smells like a pile of waste.
And I can’t even find the accurate terms,
To describe the taste.
Colorless and soggy,
With hazardous bones that you can’t see,
It makes my vision foggy,
It’s not the food for me.

Ancient Aliens

100 million years back in time and space…
When ancient aliens first showed their face…

They had bright blue skin and dark green lips...
And covered in fur ‘till their fingertips…

On Mars they lived from the very start…
Tame on the outside but wild at heart…

They ate bacteria garnished with dust…
And for dessert they feasted on mounds of rust…

They slept during daytime and hunted at night…
The only thing they ever feared was the touch of sun’s light…

But through the years, they realized their dearth…
So they set out to find more water on planet Earth…

They started to see the beauty of day…
And decided to live under the sun’s ray...

And as they evolved, their fur shed away…
All from the hot sun that glared down each day…

The sun also tanned their bright blue skin…
And their legs went from wide, to tall and thin…

They discovered strawberries, on which they fed…
Which turned their lips from green to red…

And when we think about those creatures, so bizzare…
We have them to thank for who we are…

Sick

I’m coughing and sneezing
I’m itching and wheezing
I have a headache and a rash
A scratch a burn a cut a gash
A pink eye and a stomach ache
My body’s barely staying awake
Twisted ankle, broken wrist,
I could never end the list.
Did I also mention that my legs are really sore?
My lips are chapped, my skin is dry, yes, indeed there’s more.
Stomach cramp, a swollen cheek,
My arms are feeling really weak.
Oh wait a sec.-It’s Saturday?
The symptoms are already going away!

Spring Is In the Air

There's a sudden brightness to the dark and dreary sky,
And the icicles drip-drip as they bid the world good-bye.
Sunlight wraps the world in a blanket of pure gold,
As a surge of sudden warmth shoos away the gloomy cold.
Clouds of mist sparkle in a dazzling world of light.
As some brightly colored flowers just complete the stunning sight.
The scent of honeysuckle tickling my nose,
Enveloping me like a blanket from my head down to my toes.
Cherry blossom petals fly around me with the breeze,
Tangling with the green leaves of a grove of sturdy trees.
The soothing touch of freshness on my arms and on my face,
And a carefree, calming breeze cools the air with swirling grace.
The shining sun sets down its charm with gentle, graceful care,
Oh yes its true, the world has changed, 'cause spring is in the air.

The Place of No Worries

Through forests and deserts and jungles and mountains,
Past buildings and gardens and parkways and fountains.
A place of no worries is waiting for you,
With sunlight so golden and rivers so blue.
Peppermint breezes and soothing fresh air,
A place to be happy and blissfully unaware.
Your worries will evaporate under rays of the sun,
All you'll be left with is relaxation and fun.
Buds of flowers, orange and pink,
Coconuts to snack on and fruit punch to drink.
Sparkling seas to swim in all day,
Trees to climb and games to play.
A silvery moon to sing you to sleep,
And no more worries that you have to keep.
