Rape

The thought of you makes my skin crawl.
The memory of your touch is the likeness of a biblical plague.
It was your careless, cruel actions that maimed my body.
My mind is forever haunted with the memory of my
 hopeless defensive fight.

I am alive and by all outside standards I am well.
But inside my fear has begun to dwell. I am so
scared to close my eyes but even more frightened
to leave them open. I lie in bed each night, wide
awake, praying for the nighttime to end. My ears
strain for a sound, any sound. Chills run up and down
my spine. My heart pumps so fast that it jars my body.

Look what you have created. Look what you have done.
My night of terror has turned into a lifetime sentence of
horror. Where does my pain end and yours begin? I am
losing myself in my sea of fear, screaming but no one
 is around to hear.

Reality

Two handsome boys with eyes so green who live a life like someone’s worst
dream.
Their mother works her life away while their father sits and shoots dope all day.
As she comes home from another hard days work, she gently kisses their
forehead and softly whispers that she loves them. As she watches them
sleeping she cant help but become angry, knowing that they must be dreaming
of the life that they should have had. Softly the boys cry daddy, daddy please don’t
go why can’t you love us enough to just say no.
Now as their father sits behind the cold gray walls of his prison cell, he finally
realizes that he is living in his own made hell. The day is finally here and he is
free once again. As he looks upon his boys, his eyes fill with tears because today
is the day he has to make a choice. Will the love he has for his sons give him
enough strength to finally say no, or will the call of the drugs be too much and
make him just go?

Broken

He stands there with the bottle in his hand, waving it around trying to make her
understand. He never thought it would come to this. To where his words would
be replaced with his fists. He knows there's no excuse for all her bruises so he
hangs his head and starts to cry.
She sits there on the edge of the bed wishing she could just be held. The
hopelessness she feels inside she can't even begin to describe. All his empty
promises are stacked too high and she knows its time for her to say goodbye.
So she hangs her head and starts to cry.
She knew this was her last time to try. So she wipes the last tear from her
eye. As he sits in the corner and continues to cry she finally found her wings to fly.

Life

Broken woman with eyes so blue. What happened in life to do this to you?
Were you cursed to live in a broken home with parents who knew nothing but
wrong? Or were you a small town girl that once knew love before fate stepped in
and it all came to a bitter end.

Broken man so sad and alone, what made you turn this bar into your home?
Does the alcohol help ease your pain when life’s sorrows seem to fall like rain?

Broken addict with the pipe in your hand, what will it take to make you
understand? The high can make the pain go away, but is the loss of your soul
really a price your willing to pay?

Somewhere through the darkness there has to be a light, even if they do nothing
but struggle and fight in their crazy thing called life.

Addict

I look in the mirror and what do I see? I see a broken woman staring back at
me. Sometimes it seems that lady luck is not on our side when she deals out
the cards that map out our life. I used to have dreams as big as the sky now all I
can think is, "Where’s my next high?" Though I’ve tried and I’ve cried this wicked life
I just cant leave behind and I feel like I am running out of time. The choices are
clear and its time to take my stand. I either continue on this destructive path or I
take a chance and make a better life of my own. The cards have been laid and
there’s no more time to test my fate. So what do I see in the reflection staring
back at me? I see an addict trying to break free.

Goodbyes

I look around with my tears falling to the ground. If only I could turn bac k time to
when you were here. I pray everday for you to be near, to help me erase all my
doubts and fears. But times are hard and life is cruel. I guess that's just the
rules. People say that they wish for just one more second to say goodbye, but
death comes on swift wings and in the end there's never enough time. Only
years will tell if I'll see you up there but until ten I will always keep your memories
in my heart and hold them near.

Soldier

You don't know me and I don't know you. Our eyes have never met but I can't
forget the way you scream at me to put down my guns and let these people be,
but I can't do that you see because I have orders to protect my country.
Sometimes I don't like my job anymore then you like watching it on T.V., but that's
how it goes when your in the military. While you sleep in your bed tucked in
safely at night, I'm standing here with my head held high. I'm proud and I'm
strong but I can't do this alone So instead of screaming at me stand up and
support me.

Dealer

I’ve got it all, powder coated pretty colored pills of every shape and size. don’t
worry about finding me cause ill find you, maybe at the playground of your school
or out on the street. Wherever I am your sure to hear the sound of me tapping my
feet saying,

Come one come all I’ve got what you need.
Come one come all and ill set you free.

Pills not your thing? Don’t worry here try some cocaine. Just remember that I
didn’t cause you all this pain. I just gave you something to help you get away.
And while your sitting there thinking about your next line I’ve already got my mouth
open wide saying,

Come one come all I’ve got what you need.
Come one come all and ill set you free.

Hydroponic or just great chronic, I’ve got both of these you see. I told you before
that I can set you free. And when your life seems to fly and you slowly die ill still
be saying,

Come one come all I’ve got what you need
Come one come all and ill set you free.

Maybe in the end you’ll realize im not a friend. Cause im never going to set you
free im just going to keep you shackled here next to me. Cause im your dealer
and the only thing my freedom will do is kill you.
