Things Have Changed

Alarming events have gone by
That show the world through different eyes
In the past, atrocities
People hurt, ignored pleas
And now we can understand the harm
And not repeat these great alarms
Because things have changed

Not every society
Is targeted viciously
For believing, looking differently
As they used to
Because things have changed

For even I, who am a fuse
Of cultures that used to abuse
Each other in the far away past
Am treated with respect and care
Because things have changed

But things are not what they should be
Because we still have hate in our hearts
For people from all different parts
Of this changing world

Because not every society is still targeted
But some still are

Our wrong world needs to right itself
For its future generations
Because things have changed
But they are still not how they should be.

Sea Glass

Sifting through infinite grains of sand
For some sea glass
Beautiful sea glass

Sifting through sand for all kinds of sea glass
For all different colors
And the special beauty each shade brings

Sifting through sea glass for dazzling glass
Like a crystal diamond in a mountain of stone
With an elegant unpolished outside
But with a polished interior that still holds secrets

Sifting through dazzling sea glass for meaningful pieces
Which are like a book I can't put down
That I never tire from looking at

The sand is full of beautiful sea glass
I can't wait to find my piece.

The Wall

There are gray pictures,
All over the wall,
Some big and some small,
Capturing moments.
And some come and some go,
But there are pictures,
All over the wall

Some pictures are special,
Some pictures are rare,
Many show family, friends
Pictures about things that you care.
Some are your lover,
Captured in time,
And in these gray pictures,
Everything is fine.

Sadly, not every picture is good,
Some pictures are of
People who give you a mood
People like mud, who slow down your progress,
And of enemies and haters,
Whom you never call.
Some pictures are even
Like holes in the wall,
You think it would be better
To have nothing at all.

And the quotes! Oh the quotes,
Some are from people famous,
Some are from arguments,
Some are about favorites.
Some are compliments that make you smile,
Some are insults that make you cry for a while.

And finally, the drawings that are always changing,
Many of these are not even worth changing,
But some of these drawings are the future and past.
Many of these pictures are made by your hand,
Sketched and painted and written in sand.
And these are the most important of pictures.

All in all, on the wall,
There are good things and bad,
There are elements that make you happy and sad.
But you wall is also a bed,
A place to withdrawal to in,
And also a multitool,
With infininite uses,
A knife and a bandaid to fix your abuses,
So never let your wall get destroyed,
Its your greatest tool, object and even a toy.

Mirrors

I need to help me find myself,
In the mirror that is life.

For the man I see in my reflection,
Is not who that man used to be.

I have traveled to the places of my dreams,
To find hopefully that shining seam,
That is a break into my heart,
That tells me I am more than just a part,
Of this world that’s a mirror

For the man I see in my reflection,
Is not who that man used to be.

I have learned the world in a way,
To see all of the little frays,
That set all humans apart,
And in those freys I can see,
Those things are living inside of me,
In this world that’s a mirror.

For the man I see in my reflection,
Is not who that man used to be.

In the voices heard inside my head,
And all the passages that I have read,
Tell tales of the roads,
Of which I could have taken,
But that’s not me.
In this world that’s a mirror.

For the man I see in my reflection,
Is not who that man used to be.

But now I can see my smile,
I have not seen it in a while,
And in its gesture I can see,
That everything has really changed,
But that is not a terrible thing.
In this world that’s a mirror.

For the man I see in my reflection,
Is not who that man used to be.
But He is Me,
And that is all that matters.

Divided

Why is the world divided?
I can’t really say
Why does today always seem
To be worse than yesterday?

If the world is divided
Can anything be won?
If all us humans wage our wars
It hurts all;
Rich and Poor

Have you heard the news lately?
It tells of a world unwell
If the news were all you heard
The world would sound like hell

We must go on a mission
Our enemy will be hate
Only if this mission succeeds
We will be truly great

So let’s go fix the world
The problems left
Needs to be none
And a project of this size
Needs to include everyone.

Empty

Empty

He stands straight
Looking empty, morbid
Like a beast is gnawing a hole,
In his heart

They fall
Finally
Slipping down his face
D	D
  R R
    I O
      P P

They splash
At the ground
Bitter like an orange peel

He looks up
At the black sky
Speckled with white
Why Her?
