Mirrors

I need to help me find myself, In the mirror that is life. For the man I see in my reflection, Is not who that man used to be. I have traveled to the places of my dreams, To find hopefully that shining seam, That is a break into my heart, That tells me I am more than just a part, Of this world that’s a mirror For the man I see in my reflection, Is not who that man used to be. I have learned the world in a way, To see all of the little frays, That set all humans apart, And in those freys I can see, Those things are living inside of me, In this world that’s a mirror. For the man I see in my reflection, Is not who that man used to be. In the voices heard inside my head, And all the passages that I have read, Tell tales of the roads, Of which I could have taken, But that’s not me. In this world that’s a mirror. For the man I see in my reflection, Is not who that man used to be. But now I can see my smile, I have not seen it in a while, And in its gesture I can see, That everything has really changed, But that is not a terrible thing. In this world that’s a mirror. For the man I see in my reflection, Is not who that man used to be. But He is Me, And that is all that matters.
