Charlie Rippey Poem
Take a swing and knock it outta the park!
You can do anything you set your mind to!
Love your neighbor and all that jazz!
Those words still hold true today.
Don't cry you can do much better than them!
Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life!
Close your eyes and make a wish, it will come true!
Am I still telling the truth?
Always look out for number one!
He who laughs last laughs best!
You gotta take anything to get ahead in this life!
Now it's looking a little more clear.
I'm not trying to be a downer here, just stating facts.
You can't get anything today unless you want it bad enough.
And wishing is a foolish waste of anyone's time.
And we ain't got much of that left.
And just for the record, everyone is not a winner!
If there were no losers in life, what would be the point?
Competition and the strive for greatness make this world the best!
And I challenge anyone that wants to prove me otherwise!
Some will say that this is an evil way of thinking.
Let them say what they want, doesn't bother me.
Because when it is all said and done they will see.
When i'm at the finish line waiting on them.

Charlie Rippey Poem
Shout in your deepest voice that you can't take no more!
Let the world know that you have had enough of this!
Whatever is on your mind tell at least one person!
You gotta express yourself 'cause no one can read your mind!
Or forever hold your peace.
The time has come for you to make your opinions known!
No holds barred, that's what I say, speak freely!
The constitution is no one's whore, can't use it cheaply!
Come as you are bring your friends and start a protest!
Or forever hold your peace.
Stand up in public places to tell them they're all wrong!
The repurcutions can't compare to the ultimate freedom!
Wave the flag of truth in front of those who don't wanna see!
You can't live your life afraid to tell anyone anything!
Or forever hold your peace.
So what if you get chastised for what's on your conscience!
The people that cast stones are the ones scared to speak!
If our past great leaders had gotten stage-fright and bowed out,
Then I could justify the cowardess of some gutless folks
'Cause they forever held their peace.
Rent a room and sell tickets, call it "The End of the World"!
Everyone will show up just out of morbid curiosity!
Lock the doors behind them and make them listen to you!
Ramble, rant and rave about all the things that piss you off!
Or forever hold your peace.
We don't have a whole lot longer before the world is over!
So I say make your mark while there's still room on the page!
You can't go through life afraid to tell people your true feelings,
Even if it hurts them! How would feel if you died tomorrow
And never spoke your peace!?

Charlie Rippey Poem
Not a penny to my name, but a smile on my face nonetheless
Alone in this world all have betrayed me, can't stop laughin'
No chance to escape the madness of this evil world,
But that won't bring me down.
Dead summer heat brings out the beast in the most pure of saints
A frequent flow of sweat will drive the inner child to horrible acts
Take the time to smell and stomp the roses into the ground,
This day can't get any better.
I sometimes wonder how the fall of man came to pass
The devil made me do it just isn't a valid excuse anymore
Corruption of coorperations for the almighty dollar bill,
Sit back and enjoy the ride.
To have a dream today is all you need some say
And hard work is the only thing to do to achieve it
When you live in a world that is a constant nightmare,
Nighty-nite. Sleep tight to you all.
The straight-laced have now taken over the free earth
Lie to our faces all the while with prosthetic smiles pasted on
Wars started to fill the citizens of D.C.'s pockets,
Democracy is the greatest invention.
Understand mind you I'm not trying to be the pessimist here
I have all it takes to be the kindest person in history
Qualifications for popularity are souly demonic,
And that is what brings a man down.

Charlie Rippey Poem
Twister, spinning out of human control.
Emotions, can anyone make out the end?
The only comfort is that we will all leave soon.
So get you ticket soon before they sell out.
The line out by the booth is shrinking, it seems.
Is it lack of money, or lack of interest.
Maybe even perhaps a lack of faith
Either way it indeed a sad sight to see.
The ticket master is shielding himself from the storm.
The sun will not appear until all seats are sold.
Could it be tomorrow or one-hundred years from now?
No one knows, not even our counter man.
From what I heard, one day his boss will say,"that's enough."
And even though there will still be good spots left
What the boss says goes.
These tickets aren't hard to come by.
Couldn't be easier as a matter of fact.
How much for this great trip of a lifetime you ask?
All it takes is a little time.
You have your ticket, good now pay attention.
You can't lose this stub once you have it.
As long as you follow the rules the ticket master gives you.
This seems way too easy, what's the catch here?
No strings attached, you just must put your faith in the ticket master.
For you see, he also built this booth with his hands.
And if you look really close, you can see scars on his palms.
He died to give you this ticket.
So please, take your ticket, and let the next in line get theirs.
And have a great trip.

Charlie Rippey Poem
When I die, there will be no crying
It shall be a time to laugh and sing
Good times gone but never forgotten
Hit the road, Jack!
All my friends and family will be there
For drink, talk and good fellowship
Music and dancing everywhere you look
Live and let die!
Games and good times galore what a time!
Party hats and whistles passed out at the door
And let's not forget about the door prizes
A copy of the single "Zombie"!
I am sure there will be times of sadness here
But clever diversions will end that quickly
Before long the place will be rockin'
It's my party and I'll die if I want to!
And to all those that choose to attend
Will be blessed with love forever
'Cause I will see who the patrons are
Well secluded, I see all!
Yeah, it's gonna be a great bash, wish I could make it
But as you see I had a prior engagement
So drink one or two or three for me too
One bourbon, one scotch, and one beer!
To my loving family on this day:
Daddy loves you very much and is still with you
So don't you cry my three little cool kids,
I belive it's time for me to fly!

Charlie Rippey Poem
His mood changes with the passing seasons,
Unpredictable.
His life reflects upon lack of accomplishments,
Dissapointment.
His loves have been very few and far between,
Unavoidable.
His mind set to forgetting and starting all over,
Replenishment.
She wonders how she ever got caught up in it,
Confusion.
She sleeps alone at night hoping to erase it all,
Praying.
She jokes that it didn't mean anything to her,
Retrobution.
She goes home every night to a dark empty home,
Crying.
He pulls out old photographs and gazes longingly,
Drudgery.
She takes his old clothes and packs them away,
Vindication.
He plays their coveted song on the radio over and over,
Privacy.
She calls best friends to trash the one that did her in,
Frustraion.
He holds in his heart their very first kiss for dear life,
Longingly.
She regrets the day that she ever laid eyes upon him,
Damnation.
He finally deals with the fact that the wonder is complete,
Willingly.
She begins to long for the day she can forgive him again,
Anticipation.

Charlie Rippey Poem
Arise from your redundant slumber, my sweet.
It is time to meet the sun.
Open up your eyes to greet the stallion, darling.
It is longing for your soul.
Outstretch you arms and legs to take in the sin, lover.
It is hungry for forbidden fruit.
Admire the 7-mile journey into constant madness.
It is a wonderful imaginary nightmare.
Do not be afraid honey, for death is inevitable.
The only freedom in life.
Let its rays beam down upon you as if to say "welcome."
Come on and take a chance.
The anger that once consumed you soon becomes serenity.
Not much longer now.
As eyes turn blood-red and your brain compresses into stone.
Spiritual paranoia sets in.
Omit all clothing and dance naked in the pouring acid rain.
The arms burn for joy.
Lay down as the chill of freedom sweeps over your exposed thigh.
Close your eyes one last time.
Girl, I'm so excited to show you the mystery of the stallion.
Ancient secrets finally revealed.
I ask of you, take me and my love away, forever.
Leave this rock to return no more.

Charlie Rippey Poem
Think twice before you shed that tear.
Can't let anyone see that you're weak.
Come with me to the dark corner.
And put your head on my shoulder.
We will get through this.
I promise this to you.
Think twice before you kiss that man.
Don't want to lead him on too much.
Let's run to the border and let him be.
And put your hand into mine.
He doesn't deserve one like you.
I promise this to you.
Think twice before you tell them yes.
Nobody here knows you like I do.
Hop in my car and race to the sun.
And let me put my arm around you.
Have a feeling that they want to use you badly.
I promise this to you.
Think twice before you sleep tonight.
Want for you to wake up with a new view.
Dream of the man of your wildest dreams.
And invite me to come on in.
You don't know me, but you already love me.
I promise this to you.
Think twice before you take me in your arms.
Unconfortable silence is a false security.
Dreaming that we will be together forever.
One on one. One mind , one flesh, one soul.
I can make you happy the rest of your days.
I promise this to you.

Charlie Rippey Poem
You wake up in the morning and there it is.
No knowledge, a visibly clean new slate.
Unconditional love until the day that you die.
That is what a child means to me.
From the day they enter the earth, they bring joy.
Even in the "terrible twos" it's really not that bad.
Each new day an opportunity to teach them what's right.
That is what a child does for me.
The first date, first crush, first heartbreak.
All things that need to be treasured.
They hate you one minute, cry on your shoulder the next.
That is what a child needs from us.
Constantly growing, physically and emotionally.
"Daddy, why am I getting hair down there?"
Unconfortable at times, but wonderful nonetheless.
That is what a child can put you through.
The walk down the isle to give your little girl away.
You wanna hold her so tight until the day you die.
But now she's off to start her own little family.
That is what a child grows up to become.
So this is what I have been trying to tell you all.
The next time you anger your son or your daughter.
Don't scold or hit them, hold them tight and say "I love you."
Because that is what a child needs the most.

Charlie Rippey Poem
Let me run into your arms so you can catch me.
I wanna see your Kentucky eyes that stab my soul.
Can't wait to taste your milk 'n' honey tongue.
My anticipation higher than the purest from the streets.
We could stay up all night and just look at each other.
Let me run, please let me run.
My arch enemy has always been lack of good timing.
Set time pieces to the same time zone.
When that alarm sounds music to my heart.
I reach for the door and slowly turn the knob
Go to open a new set of possibilities, but not yet?
Just one more chance, let me run.
You know that we should forget this damn place for good.
I just want for you take me with you wherever that might be.
The rain is so beautiful here you should really see it.
Breathe in time with me so that we can be one.
I told you I was sorry I made a mistake and it cost me you.
I'll slow down if you let me run.
The plans we made and the moments that we even had a fight.
Burned into my head a scorching star headed for ignition.
A sight to behold a joy to be treasured for always.
Distraction got the better of me and I missed out on more than I thought.
And now as I break down I wonder what I would have paid to keep you.
You were right to not let me run.
One more day is all I'm asking for up there dear Lord.
The chance to plead my case to the fair Kentucky-eyed angel.
'Cause even if forgiveness is not accepted I can still sleep a little better
Been singled out it feels like this is a test, no way in hell I pass.
As they take her away all I can do is watch in utter destruction.
Please let her wake up so that we could run one last time.
