Rain

Let me run into your arms so you can catch me. I wanna see your Kentucky eyes that stab my soul. Can't wait to taste your milk 'n' honey tongue. My anticipation higher than the purest from the streets. We could stay up all night and just look at each other. Let me run, please let me run. My arch enemy has always been lack of good timing. Set time pieces to the same time zone. When that alarm sounds music to my heart. I reach for the door and slowly turn the knob Go to open a new set of possibilities, but not yet? Just one more chance, let me run. You know that we should forget this damn place for good. I just want for you take me with you wherever that might be. The rain is so beautiful here you should really see it. Breathe in time with me so that we can be one. I told you I was sorry I made a mistake and it cost me you. I'll slow down if you let me run. The plans we made and the moments that we even had a fight. Burned into my head a scorching star headed for ignition. A sight to behold a joy to be treasured for always. Distraction got the better of me and I missed out on more than I thought. And now as I break down I wonder what I would have paid to keep you. You were right to not let me run. One more day is all I'm asking for up there dear Lord. The chance to plead my case to the fair Kentucky-eyed angel. 'Cause even if forgiveness is not accepted I can still sleep a little better Been singled out it feels like this is a test, no way in hell I pass. As they take her away all I can do is watch in utter destruction. Please let her wake up so that we could run one last time.
