Eviction

Down whiskey for brain alteration
Inhale potent smoke to open cognitive Inspiration
Id is now truly bent
Body is demanding its overdue occupancy
Rent
Sick and wondering why the tenant is so Unkind
Taut rope is twisted to maximum
Now it needs to unwind
Let loose spinning wildly out of control
Dizziness causes vision to blur
Careful, cant do much with broken arms
Messed up beyond belief
In the eye of the inebriated storm
There is still no relief

They Say

They say
A man should not dream of certain things
Of the peace and happiness they could bring
Events turn to dusty memories and tend to cling
Pain due to loss can drag a man in
Believed in all of this until one lonely day
Unexpectedly an angel flew my way
Talked to me intently even though I couldn't think of what to say
Hypnotized by her beauty and warmed from her glowing light
Hand in mine; we walked into the old city starry night
For the first time in forgotten years my numbed heart felt more than all right
Alive
The gift she gives to me
It helps me find the lost parts of who I can be
They say
A man should not dream of certain things
Of the peace and happiness they could bring
To the experiences and memories I will cling
As she opens her wings
She takes me in.

American Woman

Her fiery unique point of view
She shoots straight from those perfect hips
So sexy and cool
Yet her touch is molten hot
When I drink from her
Such a sweet taste left on my lips
I will never be removed from her
From her soul my true naked self I cannot hide
A walking living beautiful piece of art
Sending pleasurable flutters of desire and love
Through my eager heart
She rescues me when I fall into the murky waters of confusion
Flowing around my head
Life appears exciting and brighter
If it doesn't she provides comfort and holds me tighter
She helps guide me through this unpredictable life
With her intense light
On this remarkable journey we continue to grow
So on and on we go.

Coconuts

I feel the wet sand ooze between my toes as I stroll along the shore
Splashing lightly through the ebbing sea water
Golden sand reflecting the intense sunlight
Creating a subtle mirage in the distance
A thick tree line is only yards from the shore
I look in wonder at the tall palm trees with their coconuts high above
Imagining someone getting hit on the head while sleeping underneath
A somewhat likely scenario
Laughing at the immature thought as they don't die, only a slight headache
I reach a fallen tree, which juts out from the tangled vegetation
Startled when I see a naked foot
I don't think I need to see this I say to myself as I uncontrollably move forward
Place my hands on the trunk as I peer over
A man, a corpse definitely, lays twisted on the other side
A large hole in his skull
Hungry birds I assume have eaten brains
Clearly no more are inside
A coconut did not cause this.

Melancholy

The saddest thing….searching for those elusive tender compassionate memories
That are yours, attained from personal experience and introverted appreciation
Finding them gone
Erased by infectious negative magnetic and depressing events and feelings
Leaving you with a deep hollow cold area in your mind
Confusing, knowing in your heart of hearts you revisited these precious places before
And experienced their warmth and comfort at times until the winding path of life finds more, more of
these moments
Now they fall into the hollow place, disappearing into the dark pit bellow without a trace
As you wait for the sound of happiness hitting the bottom, lost forever.

King

Contemplations, which turn bones to dust
Feeling like I am going to collapse in on myself
Tear my eyes out before I give up
Tears bring out the decrepit years
Yet this is all that has ever been known
Sitting here on my futile throne
Within the boundaries of the kingdom of my distraught thoughts
All of them my own
Look at how the melancholy has grown
So proud
Disenchanted with the imaginary crowd
Can do as I please
No one real in here with me
Except the ones I make believe for company
Jesters to entertain
Whores to take away the pain
Dead authors provide conversation to stop the onset of going totally insane
In the volatile spiritual kingdom under my reign.

Keep Filling the World Up

In time
You will find
You become more defined
As in your mind
This helps coming to terms
With your existence
Although questions the extent of your persistence
Keep picking up
That pen
That brush
That instrument
That camera
Keep creating
Filling the world up with art
In its many shapes and forms
While ignoring the expected conforms
Continuing to break free of the norms
So keep picking up
That pen
That brush
That instrument
That camera
Keep filling the world with art.

Make Believe

The lingering ghosts in our haunted minds
Follow us throughout the pressing days
Not just in the inevitable night
As we lay awake scared in bed
Reminding us of actions and revealing consequences
We pretend it is make believe
For the slightest feeling of relief
Yet continue to burn bridges down
Watching castles of effort crumble to the ground
Observing the disturbing chaos all around
Collecting treasures we have found
If we take a minute standing amongst the deep rubble
And destruction to look around
We see the ghosts of consequence in their deathly form walking through our dreams
Convincing ourselves it is all make believe.
