They Say
They say
A man should not dream of certain things
Of the peace and happiness they could bring
Events turn to dusty memories and tend to cling
Pain due to loss can drag a man in
Believed in all of this until one lonely day
Unexpectedly an angel flew my way
Talked to me intently even though I couldn't think of what to say
Hypnotized by her beauty and warmed from her glowing light
Hand in mine; we walked into the old city starry night
For the first time in forgotten years my numbed heart felt more than all right
Alive
The gift she gives to me
It helps me find the lost parts of who I can be
They say
A man should not dream of certain things
Of the peace and happiness they could bring
To the experiences and memories I will cling
As she opens her wings
She takes me in.
