Eve Almonte Poem
Soft rain slowly falls
The Angel’s Trumpet is gone
Outside the window

Eve Almonte Poem
Dizzy from the red cup party.
Walking blocks to the beach.
Ears still ringing and singing songs off key.
Swearing as we held hands and danced
To the music of the blaring cars that drove by.
We were so young and full of obnoxious witty spirit.
The five of us kicking off our high heels as we left trails of red,
white and blue clothes tossed over the damp sand.
Warm sea water drowned in our mascara
as the black X’s washed off the tops of our hands.
Get in! We yelled to the starring boys as they walked by.
Our bare breast as floats as we laid on our backs
to watch the lively fireworks over our spiraling heads.
The moon lite ocean and five girls splashing their arms.
This is what Florida Summer was made of.

Eve Almonte Poem
She stood there throughout the years knowing one day she would no longer encounter this earth.
Her fingers gripping the cold soil sinking in every inch of her hurt.
Her limbs hung low and her texture clung dry.
Her brittle hair barely gusting in the abandoned night sky.
Symbolic words and letters carved in jaggedly around her side.
She never complained and gave cover when the morning cried.
She enjoyed all of her existence in the sun.
It was life that was against her time that had just begun.

Eve Almonte Poem
Captivated By His Words
By: E. C. Almonte (Apples&Eve)
A strong couple once molded cannot be separated.
The world we live in is beautiful.
It’s we who create these deceitful ways.
The four layers of bright light beamed down depicted the gates of heaven,
As I hung my hair out the window of his white pickup truck.
The sun’s keen rays brightened to wake up as it did the morning before.
Mother Nature at her finest with her nursery of floating palm trees.
He filled with anger quickly like a train slightly derailing
As the sparks of the copper railings entered his eyes.
His innocence stood out to me more than the obvious.
I sat attentively eyes wide and ears engaged to his lips like a bride to her groom.
He went on to say to survive this world, you’re better paired in two’s.
His story telling kept my curiosity wild like a feline strolling on a dessert afternoon.

Eve Almonte Poem
Kiss my heart
Caress my soul
This night may end
But the feelings won’t go.
Trace my lips
Embrace my eyes
This moment is absurd
But my dear we tried.
Crave my thoughts
Pave my body
This season isn’t our season
But we can't be sorry.
