Sophie Kammerer Poem
It's funny:
The silly little things
We hold on to.
It's funny:
Oh just to see what brings
Us our pleasure.
It's funny:
Times where the lone heart sings
It's song of joy.
It's funny:
Simplicity our wings;
Carrying us as Kings.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Life is but a contest;
Life is just a game.
A simple way for us
To pass the time away.
With every new experience
Taking you closer to the end,
We strive to make a difference;
To fix and heal and mend.
Though, soon you'll find
It's simpler than this.
Life's only purpose -
To create something you'll miss.
A legacy to hold
Part of us when we leave.
A story to be told,
The one our souls will weave.
When our time here is up,
When all is said and done,
If every moment counts,
Then you have truly won.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
I came in yesterday, and
Unpacked my things in the room.
But, I couldn't shake the feeling:
This place will be my tomb.
It's rundown, tattered,
But maybe sort of cozy.
Mind if I look around?
(I'm feeling kind of nosy)
Come to think of it,
I'll probably stay a while.
I'm shocked at how
Quickly it makes me smile
To be with you, here,
In your torn, broken heart.
At this point I
Couldn't bear to be apart.
So let me rent the room
That's vacant in your soul.
I'll pay you in my love.
I'll never be late, because I'll pay you in my love.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Such a wonder,
The human mind,
So unkind,
To itself.
We preach love
For those around,
But none is found,
For itself.
Held above
Is the rest,
Not the best,
Is itself.
Such emphasis
On care for others,
It never bothers,
With itself.
Yet, that's vital
For a pure soul.
Its smoldering coal:
Itself.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
I pray to every being,
That you'll be my forever.
I wish on every star,
That your love for me will never
Fade with passing days.
I need you, in all ways.
I hope that when we kiss,
Our souls will again be one.
I beg that after this,
The bond won't be undone.
You and I for eternity;
Together with true certainty.
You deserve pure light,
And the calmest black night.
You deserve every flower,
Soaked in cool spring showers.
But do I deserve you?
Lord, I pray that I do.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Somehow all I wanted;
Then more,
Then less.
You showed me there
Were stars
On Earth
Too, just dimmer than
Those in
The sky.
At night, they shine
The way
I did
Back in the beginning.
I thought
I could
Love you, yet I
Wouldn't bring
Myself to.
Our first kiss could
Have been
Our last,
Because they both left
The exact
Same taste.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Only when you realize that this life is meaningless,
Can you achieve true eternal happiness.
For this very reason is why the poor man
Will end up more wealthy than the rich ever can.
Not a care in the world, he goes through this life,
Completely immune to the world's greed-born strife.
A feather in the wind, he remains free;
Oblivious to the pressure of our society.
He serves as an example of what we could become,
If we learn that to attachment we must remain numb.
It's a simple philosophy, and not quick to confuse:
When accepting you have nothing to gain, you'll find you have nothing to lose.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Up ahead was the tunnel,
Dark, unyielding.
Hollow like the cavity
That ate away at his heart.
They said he was prepared;
Ready, for battle,
Though deep inside,
He knew he was not.
Yet the voice still pushed him forward:
No breaks, only pressure.
Steady, but he felt
It get stronger each day.
Or, was he weaker?
Slowly eroding away.
Stones on the ocean floor,
Thrown around by the force.
Blinded, he felt,
As he walked into the darkness.
The path quickly fading
Leaving him lost, alone.
Should he be fine
Like they said?
He was different:
Strange, but
What if it was them
Who needed to change?
To let up, cut slack,
Relax the force.
By now, he was swallowed;
Shrouded in black,
Yet somehow the clouds
Had cleared from his mind.
The tunnel was cold, and in
That way it shook him.
So closing his eyes,
He turned back around.
Numbly, he went, down
The path he'd come in on,
Realizing now, what he
Should have for a while.
There was no point
In torturing himself
Just because others
Said it was so.
If he didn't have the desire
To go down that road,
Nobody could force him
And make him suffer.
As he approached the exit,
He squinted in the brightness,
The sunlight that hit him
Filling the cavity in his heart.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
I've felt the pain of an orphaned child,
The wounds of a fallen soldier.
Although on my skin you'll see no marks,
Underneath, I still smolder.
For pain is not a scratch;
Not a bruise, or a scrape, or a bump.
Pain is the fire that burns inside
When you try but just can't give up.

Sophie Kammerer Poem
Sometimes I wish I could lay back,
And feel my weight against the Earth.
Hold my breath and hear the sounds,
Of my own slow-beating heart.
Simply fade into the Oblivion
That forms our universe.
Bask in all the energy:
The very last and very first.
To be at one and at peace
With all that is around.
To take in each drop
Of this life we have found.
I wish I could be one with the world
And give the world to you.
For not only is the beauty great,
But the pain and sorrow too.
