Llama Drama

(Was on a pic of a llama with a thick lock of hair on his head, styled in quite human like fashion and it was grinning. If u google llamas perhaps then u will understand what I mean)

This flesh 'n' blood cousin of the ship 'o' the desert
here is given that funky punky , stylish haircut?

Could it be optical illusion or screen manipulation
causing him to grin in mock jubilation?

And ain't he gonna toss those bangs like some real groovy llama?
My doesn't he look ready for any showbiz dromedary drama?

Ah yes, he does look handsome, do come have a view
of this fuzzy, comedy dromedary beau!

Send in the paparazzi, for he's already saying cheese
But he prefers his own kind, send in some lady llamas please.

Hey, like humans, llamas can stick their tongues out and spit to express displeasure
So keep your distance from angry ones or you will regret the mismeasure

The one I see in the picture is a cool llama teenaager
but he's no teeny-bopper, for he's a teetotaller
as no one ever saw him
with a bottle of gin or lager!

Fantastic Flora Masquerade

Creeping creepy creepers, the crawling trellis
jutting out of everywhere
snaking through country and metropolis
twisting turning in floral bliss
but more like snakes that hiss
But in quietude feign death for self-defense!

Weeping willows with an unreal surreal sorrow
weeping tears of dew onto the silted furrow.
Perhaps weeping for bretheren felled
in deforestations and land clearings in
my imaginations of the call to preservation.
Against ethnic cleansing of greenery for selfish building
As per man's construction for mere recreation

Velvety-green tear- stained faces or rather foliage
When dew is stuck on them as nature's trinkets of pearls.

And over there touch-me-nots swaying coyly
like prim and proper maidens
in the fantastic floral gardens.

And what in the world is this case?
Imitation flowery in place of imitation jewellery?
Yeah, thats poinsettia in a vase
Leaves in the disguise of flowers
Its actual flowers relegated to backstage.

And ethereal fairy-slippers await their never coming wearers
and Indian pipes to be admired by Red Indian sightseers.

Oh and here's another spectacle- but sniper tactics this time
Yikes! Let the naive insect world beware!
Whilst the bloodthirsty killers lie in ambush
Those camouflaged jungle guerrillas
or should we say the venus fly-traps!

Or a more harmless one yet mimicking the scary
A snap-dragon flora, its mouth opening and snapping shut.

Then watch that mega-sized jumbo giant flora
The world's largest flower
No stems, no leaves, plant-eater plant, rafflesia.
Is it too much for the faint-hearted ha ha.

And wow now watch that incredible costume, oh my!
A flower masked as some pesky fly!
None other than the remarkable fly orchid.

And yet another, the silent music of the fiddlenecks
Fiddles as if for the light-weight fairies.

And lastly not forgetting ofcourse
the sky-blue unforgettable forget-me-nots
A memorable bouquet but themselves devoid of memory.

Ah nature lover poets if you wish to view
more of flora in a fancy dress masquerade
Go ahead and flip through the pages of
a botanical, floral
horticultural
pictorial journal.
And see for yourself the fantastic flora's charade
or else imagine them dressed as a floral renegade!

Dark Skinned Vs Light Skinned

In our Asian-cum-Eastern land
No one prefers or admires
the dark-skinned or tanned

Gosh, as if the fair-skinned alone
belonged to the so-called fairer sex
And here, 'black is beauty' a phrase unheard
All falling for the light skinned almost in reflex!

Bachelors on the hunt for a non-fictional Asian 'Snow-white'
Even an ugly heart will do if the skin is white, pale and light

For them lighter skin tis brighter and better at beauty
even if superficial and skin-deep
The dark-skinned maidens thereby left single to weep

But while the ebony dark- pigmented
go on applying whitening and lightening creams
The white Westerners frequented
the sunlit beaches for dark tans from sun beams!

So in westerners females wish to look browned and tanned
Thus the opposite is preferred
so to that end they may sun bathe for hours on beach sand

Ah and though from the point of view of my motherland
I am luckier that God chose
to model me from a peachy whiter lighter clay,
I still feel this tug-of-war between complexions
needn't really join the fray.

For when you and I glance at Naomi Campbell
we know beauty can be white, brown and black as well
Like love, beauty knows no colour, creed or race
As proved by this gorgeous black supermodel.
Besides, we all have come across
both dark-skinned angelic saints
and fair-skinned folks with sinner's taints

Ah, Black Beauty, or Fair and lovely
Beauty has never known any bounds
For God He distributed beauty rather equally
No argument can last on these grounds

Oh, a soulmate's inner beauty ought to be earnestly sought
Too bad lustful passions fall for those merely outwardly hot!

Belated Elegy and Eulogy For Sir Abdul Kalam

Professor Abdul Kalam the luminous brilliant star

I pay homage to you from here in Dar

Great brill scientist in the field of Aerospace

A noble man with an intellectual mien and grace

Aeronautics and more were his speciality wow!

He's referred to as India's best known nucleur Scientist.

An inventive mind has passed away now

Lets celebrate and commemorate a great catalyst

He did India proud and did a lot for her

All Indians who know him will concur

Elected as her great President as well

Sad now to bid him adieus and farewell

Yay, the Indian soil has now a brilliant hero in her bosom indeed

I adoringly salute this great man of my race and my creed.

When a scientist dies it is a great loss for us all
May God raise more like him after his inevitable fall

But he can now repose in heaven's lap
On earth though he has left a mighty gap.

God I believe, loves those who utilise His gift of brains
Meditation releases us from earthly fetters and chains

Science and learning works your mind ; the brain needs exercise too
So I thank God for scientists , for scientific minds
That help to illuminate and enlighten this world, for me and you.

Autumn's Ceremony

<<<<< A bevy of  invisible houris
and imaginary fairies,>>>>
cavorted about as elfin brides
under a saffron maple tree^^^^
Dressed in prism-hued layers
of chiffon in ethereal shimmers
and delicate silken gossamers
They having their group wedding in the fall
And fairy folk bustled about all round
as flimsy and flighty as they could be
while henna leaves fell upon the brides,
>>>>> in ceremonial nuptial
An autumn's breezy ritual<<<<<
and as nature's pretty confetti!

>>>>Branches denuded
Yet autumn's august<<<<
for the wilting's ravishing!
The willowy fairies, with nylon veils
almost drowned and veiled>>>>
in honey fallen maple leaves as well
>>>>Playing hide'n' seek
with browny brownie grooms
also camouflaged in the heap...>>>

( beautiful quote 7)

An Inspiring Pile of Shoes

I attended a large gathering and took some time
to observe the great assortment of shoes stacked on the racks
I saw new shoes, pricey shoes, and shoes not worth a dime
and shoes that seemed to have crossed many paths and tracks.

I saw dainty sandals and flighty high heeled ones too
I saw sporty sneakers and rough and tough trainers
I saw both the laced and the leathery buckled shoe
Then I saw the humble yet hardy pair of slippers.

I saw pointy shoes, furry shoes and flatties as well
I saw flowery ones and those studded with trinket gems
Some stacked neatly in pairs, others thrown about pell mell
Some recently repaired, some coming off at the hems.

I saw long boots, rubber boots and
there were glittery Indian styled stilettoes
I spotted fragile glass sandals and metallic brass sandals
and soft comfy ones for comfort of feet 'n' toes.

And while I was thus lost and engrossed
in watching the great assortment of footwear
The old caretaker, to me, a cheap pair tossed
saying, ' here's an extra pair if you've lost your shoes.

She was too busy and distracted to be in my shoes of muse
So I'd to slip out thinking of some quick excuse
She didn't even notice I wasn't actually barefoot
So I had to take them elsewhere, both my muse and my boot!

Ah, and long ago when once we could afford only a 'shoestring' budget
I once hadn't enough bucks to replace a worn out pair of shoes
I was sad for not having even a good goody two shoes
Then God showed me a wayfarer's shoeless pair of barefeet
and then one hapless one with no feet at all!
So I could imagine life being in their missing shoes.

(Footnote*
Wonderin where I saw so many shoes off peoples feet? Well, in our religious gatherings say for prayers in the mosque hall or even the religious lecture hall, we've to enter barefooted and sit down crosslegged. So that's where you come across all kinds of shoes on racks provided in the cubicle.

Actually in the Disney movie, 'THE PRINCE OF EGYPT', i marked that even Moses took off his shoes before talking to God.)

Baqreid the 2nd Eid

This day to celebrate the supreme sacrifice
of the ancient prophet Abraham
This day to ponder and reminisce
that divine substitution of Ismail for a ram!

This Quranic and biblical factual story
shall never diminish in its age-old glory

That superb reliance on and compliance with the will of God
eternally for man to learn from and applaud.

Upon his awesome trust in the unseen, let his kind marvel
and of submission, devotion to God bestow him a laurel

And now for the sake of mutual unity and festivity
first let all of humanity
release their doves of peace
and let them fly freely, unprovoked, unrestrained
with olive branches in their beaks

such that when angels who predicted
forever feuding humans
look down they see instead
6 billion or more two fingers up
in a huge mass of humanity
signalling for and meaning to keep the peace!

But mind you, world peace is to be everybody's goal
so let no one leave space for any loop-hole.
EID GREETINGS everybody.

Ode To a Snail

Slug or Snail
Slow you trail
The slimy path you leave
upon bark or rail
or along my pail
Glue from your tail?
Ah bind my mail?
Be my pet not pet peeve
Don't crawl up my sleeve.
Go mark some leaves.
Don't glue my nail!
How do I guess your emotions?
You never smile or wail
To thy Creator
I whisper, all hail

Mother Nature's Moodswings

Nature smiles in Spring
Pulls at our heart string
as greenery's hued in greener tinge
Having had an everlasting effect
on those evergreen trees.

Nature frowns in Autumn
gets all bored, pale and blue in the fall
Almost seems to sigh drily, wryly
Looks dull and drab
except for the windy breeze.

And this very mother nature
in full-blown winter
gives all the cold shoulder
Reveals her cold-hearted side
Could'st turn into a cold-blooded murderer
Even her nature lovers get cold feet
Besides, the winter sun is cold comfort .
A time for a A-tishoo in your tissue
a time for the noisy sneeze
Oh! Beware her icy glare, in the cold war
as she coerces all to freeze!

Ah, in summer, nature boils and goes into a 'heated debate'
What with the burning sun and its scorching torment
Ah, she can be hot-tempered this mother nature
But let the sweltered ones bathe in the seven seas
and opt for sundaes instead of steaming teas.

And if you really wish to see
mother nature fuming in fury
Behold it in thunderstorm and hurricane
You crouched safely behind the window pane
For she might storm at you quite violently
Watch out! She could get real stormy
Better stay out of her way at such times please!

And hee hee I do hope yah like
my seasoned seasonal pun
It's fine here to have
some fair weather fun
And take mom Nature's pic as she says cheese!

Yet the point here, she's created as are all mothers
implying God, not she herself could have made all of these
And so like all God's creatures who have free will
she's fallible and perhaps at times free to do as she please.
(Though some bad weather conditions can be due to human pollution in repercussion.)

Bullfighter and Bulls

A fuming, fierce and moving target
On yor species will you place yor bet!

Aiming the blade into shoulder blade or beating heart
all toreadors hope to throw that fatal decisive dart!

This bullyboy to score a bloodied bullseye in bullfight!
O'course not for the fainthearted that gory sight.

Well, that counts timid me out from any bullring
naturally I a bulwark against this lurid thing.

I find in the sport a sort of sadism
Like cockfights it must reek of masochism.

The carmine cape, the only screen between him and the jaws of death
or should I say rather, the sickle horns of death
Oh no, what if the matador ain't ever allowed to catch his breath?

For promoters a thrilling spinechilling
Spanish folk art in arena
For objectors a bloodsport
they wish as dead as the myth of Athena.

The Spanish might be divided about their picadors
on this sporty bloody battle between man and beast
No telling till when spectators will throng to watch those matadors
while I wonder do they on the trophy bull then feast?

Ah ban it to history
or fan it to the future
Call it cruelty or not, oh the thrills of our humankind
Tis fair play or fair game for the raging bull tis half blind?

Yet if any bloodlust instincts be satiated by those stuntmen toreros
matadors maybe far better than murderers and war heroes.

Book: Reflection on the Important Things
