Realism

"Realism" Living in a bleak world, The realizations of the people. All the broken dreams, Crumbling as the world turns. Broken souls walk the streets, With empty minds, And faded eyes. Days on end, Walking the same circuit. Dark nights with no dreams, And bright days with no future. The day reality is known, Is the day that pattern starts. Realism is inevitable, And makes the world pointless.

Estranged

"Estranged"

I see myself falling faster still, slowly losing all of my will.
I've come to know I am estranged, as some might call it 'being deranged'.
I see myself in a different way, in the mirror every day.
I watch myself smile but hear me say, that it has been a terrible day.
Some would say inside I'm dead, but its emotions overlapping inside my head.
I feel alone almost every day, even though people around me stay.
I can feel that I am weak, even more when I speak.
A voice barely audible to the people, a voice God couldn't even hear at the steeple.
I stay behind the group, because I fear being caught in the loop.
I hate the people that I know, and have this anger with nowhere to go.
The future that I may come to face, makes me fear what I know as my place.
A pathetic person in a shell, which cannot show the truth too well.

Deterioration

"Deterioration" Abandoned is this cold, dark house, The only life a half dead mouse. The hum of the flies behind the walls, And on the floor broken, staring dolls. The wallpaper peels, and rots, Away from loving pictures of parents and tots. A bed is flipped, And the curtains ripped. Rays of light shine through, And fall on the spot I shared with you. All the memories I've not forgot, All the times that we had fought. Now I feel so alone, Petrified, lifeless like a stone. My empty heart feels like this rotting home.

A Son's Lament

"A Son’s Lament"

Why did you have to leave?

I can still feel the warmth of your touch on my cheek.

It was a beautiful day so we decided to celebrate.
It was just you and me, and I’ll never forget what we did.
The smiles we shared and the sound of our laughs.
Your laugh, the laugh that echoes in my ears as I dream.

Why did you have to leave?

That joyous day we shared.
I wish we could have more, just you and me.
No more can I see you, no more days that carefree.
I’m left alone in this world, never again to feel your love.

Why did you have to leave?

Tomorrow

"Tomorrow"

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow,
Will your time with me bring joy, or endless sorrows?
There is no way to know what you will bring,
Whether it start with pain, and anger, or birds that sing.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow,
Why does every day that passes by replace you with a new sorrow?
What hopes I have for you each day,
They all get dashed and thrown away.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow,
Is my life really cursed with an endless sorrow?
As time goes on my hope disappears,
The happiness, and joy replaced with pain, and tears.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow,
Will you please stop this endless sorrow?
Now I pray with open hands,
For that day when this all ends.

The Surreal

“The Surreal”
A blue-grey house atop a hill,
Molding, shaping to a creator’s will.
/A green, hilly peak with nothing below,
Pressed against a sky the colour of sorrow.
/Grey-brown trees line the ground,
Twisted, and tangled with no life to be found.
/In the house a light appears,
Tiny, and dim, but showing no fears.
/Soon more lights flicker on,
Enough light now to mimic the dawn.
/The light bursts out the warped windows,
Striking through the sky defeating its foes.
/The once dreary scene, dark and dead,
Bursts with life and extinguishes dread.

Alone

"Alone" Lost in my mind, Concrete walls. Falling through the air, Leaving what I thought. I want to take a chance. The failure I want to avoid, The final thought that crossed my mind. I just want to run. I can't move my feet. All my mind is in use. I'm only thinking of you. I can't do what I want. Another night alone, Just like every one before it. The mental pain of what I hear, Just want to scratch my eyes out. Like lightning destroying a tree, My heart shatters in an amazing way. You left it cracked, I don't know anymore, I just can't close the door on you.

Death of An Agoraphobic

I awoke in a half dead state.
Senses crippled with no thoughts.
I lay alone, in an empty space.
The nothingness lasts until I peel open my eyes.
Without warning bursts of light pierce my soul as the colours in my world overflow.
That empty state was live and new, a brilliant sight that slowly grew.
I throw open my door, and my senses are assaulted with life.
A spectrum of sounds and a swirl of smells collide.
I can feel the world, as I stand in my doorway.
A bleak existence that now has meaning.
I can feel.
The warmth of the sun beats down.
The gentle touch of the wind exhilarates me.
I am lost in time, with no need to find my way.
I can see the leaves on the trees flitter.
The windows of the cars flicker with reflected light.
I dare myself, and close my eyes, leaving the beautiful sensations.
All I can do is breath, and now I feel alive.
I fall back, and land on the grass.
With eyes closed I feel the hundreds of blades, fresh, and new.
I can feel, and I am alive.

A Feeling of Hope

Confined

"Confined" I am here, with no way out. A place that’s hidden, without a doubt. No hope for rescue, and no chance for escape. Will this be my final resting place? No way to tell whether its night or day. Darkness and silence are all that stay. What goes through my mind is all I have, Left with the memories of a dead mom and dad. Worse than the loneliness of my dark quiet cell, Are the memories of the loneliness I remember too well, And the childhood I spent with no love and no home. This cell soon becomes the escape from my passed, And now this vacant cell seems bright, and vast.

Humanity

Staring into the sky,
Into the nothingness,
Only clouds are above.

There is only darkness,
It seeps through the clouds,
Black and grey.

Everything's silent,
The world around me is dead.
There is nothing left.

The first drop falls,
It dampens my soul.

It's cold and welcoming,
Like death in this lifeless world.

All I can do is stand there,
Letting the rain soak my body.

I wish it would just wash me away,
All the stains,
On the life I've lived.

Falling backwards,
Breaking the droplets as I lean.

The hard ground welcomes,
As I come crashing down.

The water rises,
And my world is spinning.

Eager for it to turn black.
Humanity, for what it’s done to me,
Will cease.
