Kevin Goodrum Poem
The past
I am a black prince
Who use to rule over a kingdom
But now my people and me are enslaved
Force to pick the white mans cotton
I see my brother and sisters
Being whipped and branded like cattle
They think we are cattle
So we are treated like cattle
But my people dream and sing of the future
Where we are free from our shackles
The future
I am the black preacher
Who has been freed from his shackles
But now fighting for our rights
So my son and daughter
Can go to a pool and not be separated
By the racial line.
Or when they go outside to play
They don’t have to worry about the KKK
Trying to hang them from a tree branch
That is the reason I fight that is why I want equal rights
For there can be a better tomorrow
The better tomorrow
I’m the son of the preacher
Who was the grandson of the black prince.
Here saying that enslavement and segregation
Is over
An now the only problem remains is
The fact that we are killing each other
Over money and women
This makes no sense
Have we as a people suffered enough?
Have we shed enough blood?
So I ask you
Put the gun down spread the word
Tell our brothers tell are sisters that the
300 years of enslavement and segregation is over
We have our black president
We have the power
To show the world that
We as a people are united

Kevin Goodrum Poem
My heart skipped a beat
When I saw you
I heard your voice
Damn I thought it couldn’t be true
A Nubian Queen was talking to me
I though they all passed away
When the world became brand new
My mind raceing
thoughts
Of this beauty rush through my mind
Her skin , Her lips
her curves ,her eyes
they made me insane
Lust wasn’t it
Love could it be
No it is to soon
Its admiration
Of beauty that cannot be equaled to
I envy those who will have her
I dispeas all those who have hurt her
Cause they know not what she is
She is the Nubian queen
And To you my Black queen
Black queen
black queen
who’s beauty is never in between
who’s smile is always seen
You are what men crave for
And what women envy
My dear black queen
Hide nothing
my dear black queen
when they see you
They now what beauty really is
They try to compare you
to the goddess Isis herself
but in the they all know what is true
my dear black queen you
are what girls dream to be
you are the Beauty I have dreamed of
so to you my dear black queen
stay beautiful

Kevin Goodrum Poem
You keep me guessing
everyday we see each other
your eyes always gleaming
your smile always keeping me on my toes
loving you is like loving
god
then i hear your rep
it keeps me out of sorts
lost... i am
do i love you
or your image
ideas
keep forming
friends say don't do it
my heart says do it
my mind lost in space
it aint never coming down
never thought i could feel this way
hurt yet loved
loved but lost
usually don't care
but thats not cutting it
do i deserver her comes through my mind
all the time
if i don't
then this feeling
would be all for nothing

Kevin Goodrum Poem
You just stare at me with hate in your eyes
And I be like damn what did I do wrong
So I pondered
Then I said skip it
Let me leave this world
Past those stars above me
I see a little red planet
The same color as my heart
So I land with hope
But only to be left alone
And so became that life on mars
Because I got tired of loves bull ****
And cupid’s ignorance
So l now I live with the Martian that’s my heart

Kevin Goodrum Poem
Sleeping restless
Cause I'm missing
That one thing
When I do sleep
I dream
Dreams that prevent me
From waking
Cause I wake to a empty room
With cold sweet
Cause your not
Next to me
I want to feel
Your soft lips
As they touch mine
I want to feel your body
As I hold you
Make you feel
like
your my world
I wish to wake next
To my queen
Even though
I'm just the court jester
But I do not jest when
I say this
Your my heart and world
I think of you
More then you can imagine
If I could paint you
You will be my Mona Lisa
If I could build you
You will be my 16th Chapel
If I could find you in history
I need to take every beauty that ever was
Put them together
And still they fall short
To what you are
You are
My Queen
You are
My Heart
You are
My World

Kevin Goodrum Poem
Is it inevitable
quick relations
no relationships
Cause the emotions be shipping off to quick
lost words
when they see me
No words
to share
accept a chuckle
To laugh about the good times
Or just laugh cause there where none
in search of the one that i can truly love
But lord curse me for my sin
The sin of envy
envyouse of others
for showing
there true affections
for each other
leaving me to wonder what it feels like
leaving me to stare with hungray eyes
cause im always last
in love
forced in to unreasonable postions
apparently its just the inevitable
for me not to find true love

Kevin Goodrum Poem
You give her your heart
She says it's not enough
You give her your soul
She says it will never be
You give her your inter being
She screams
Saying is that all I'm worth
You give her the world
Like atlas you carry it
She says you disgust her
She is a queen
That needs more
And more
Then you bring her the universe
She looks at you
With eyes full of rage
Then you stop
Tired of being the slave
Who dreams to be a king
You gave up on
The makeshift queen
She crys
And humiliates you
Telling the universes
That you where nothing
An insult to men
Then you *sigh*
Curising yourself
for loving a women
Who has no love
Then you hear the her voice
She has respect for you
So you give her your heart
She says nothing
You give her your soul
She says nothing
You give her your inter being
She says nothing
You carry your world on your shoulders
Begging god for a response
From your queen
She sits and gazes at you
With eyes as beautiful as a full moon
Lips as soft as the clouds themselves
She says ....
You my king no my pharaoh
You have gained my love
When you gave me your heart
My respect when you
gave me your soul
My life when
you surrender yourself to me
And my undying devotion
When you made me your world
You stop
You are loved
You found your queen
That recognize you as a king

Kevin Goodrum Poem
Youthful emotions
I love you
But I hate you
This twisted
Emotions
simple Feelings
of a young heart
I'm portraying it tthrough
This simple poetry
Like Roses are red violets are
blue
Envy is green my love is true
Tho you leave my heart black
and blue
When your near Im taking a
arrow to the knee
But the shooters me
Cause I try to love the
unlovable
Cause well I love the
unthinkable
Is it love or the love of the
chase
Or the lust for that taste
Either way I love you
Cause I can't have you
I hate you cause I love you

Kevin Goodrum Poem
I know this young youth
who was so full proof
he throw down the wrong sign
at the wrong time
so he got shot up
In front of that seven eleven
now he bent on heaven
still acting full proof
and not trying to act so bullet proof
so he wont make the same mistakes
but damn its to late
