Sailors Follow

Those stars that sailors follow
Guiding less the sea to swallow

And the night seas black as tar
Beyond the wave a land afar

Halyards taught, blocks in tallow
Breezes fresh and salt swallow

Timbers creak, white horses foam
Callused hands and oceans comb

And the stars pull them forth
South, east, west and north

Cabin boy or salty jack
Afore the mast, bare their back

Seas of glass or howling gales
Stands his watch what ever ails

For them the ocean a magic place
For every dawn a changing face

The face of his one true love
The wind, stars, skies above

Just Three Pounds

Three pounds a month they
ask, save the Tiger, save the
Panda, save the Jaguar, save
the rain forest.
Three pounds a month for
the children's hospital and
for the save the children's
fund, the RSPCA, RSPB,
Cancer research, just, only
three pounds a month, now
my pockets are empty with
all these donations.
Our governments, they also
donate, mainly to the
FAT CAT SOCIETY
yes those poor sods who
caused the majority of man's
suffering with their greed and
avarice.
Please just three pound a
month for the Daniel
Cheesemans poetry fund.

If Not

If not passion then desire, that fills
this heart with fire. At last this heart
has found that hallowed ground at
your side, that place of dreams.
Where the deepness of my love is
borne on wings of angels, where
the words of love tumble, fall as
blossom at your feet. Sincerity
lingers like a fragrance, warm and
inviting, soft as that first kiss. That
first kiss built on the foundations
of forever, of beating hearts in
perfect time. There is passion, there
is desire, but it is the true essence
of love that kindles the emotions
within this heart. Swaying to and fro
like poppies in an open field, this
open field a vastness of the purest
love. Horizons to be reached, wishes
and dreams to be achieved. With
this in mind I forget time and dream
of you in eternity.

Blue Tears On Parchment

Light blue tears on parchment, how softly my pen
weeps for you. Ribbons of verse bind, pull tightly
on oozing emotions. Devoted words lie embalmed
in true affection, line upon line of adoration. I am
besotted in ink, controlled by a heart that fills my
page. My pen lies aside my love, my dreams, my
day and night and what you are to me. Your kisses
are the words planted and my future granted.

To Write of Love

If I was to write of love, then from my
nib your heart would flow. Dreams
would be the parchment on which I
scribe, and your fragrance the sentence
formed. A desire and passion would
flood my page, with intermittent kisses
instead of punctuation. Chapters of
grace would fill your eyes, the contents
feelings spill your soul. The ink from
deep and pulsing veins, would secrete
the validity of my emotions. I see and
do not see, for with your absence my
page is blank, yet in your thought reams
I write. Let this page be a blanket on
which those eyes could sleep, and
realize my love is not a dream, but
reality in reaching words.

Peak District United Kingdom

Fingers of light pierced the clouds caressing the moors
with life giving warmth, purples, browns and greens of
heathers mingled, blended, in a union of beauty. Yellow
of gorse splashed in the sultry, hazy spectre of natures
superb canvas. The dry stone walling lay sporadic, lost,
decaying in time and memory, the hardy moorland sheep
stumbled from blade to blade, in the breeze they used the
walls as shade. Golden plovers dipped and dived the call
of pee weet pee weet echoed in the stillness, the Peregrine
hovered with silent wings and sunlit eye. Those fingers of
light walked the hillside highlighting the chalk outcrops
on craggy reaches as if new laden snow. Black pools of
peaty water dot themselves borne of winters starkness,
it is a beauty that holds both eye and heart, a picture
painted for the soul. A place where all blends and the
crofter wears no watch only the sun and moon to follow
and the footsteps of the rambler sleeps in the fragrance
of the heather.

Fire and Ice

Fire and ice fill these veins, dreams
are no longer sufficient to quell the
turbulent tides that quarrel within.
Deep within butterflies dance out
of sync, and the heartstrings await
the magical fingers of the harpist.
Solitudes aura is cold and clammy,
there is a dark side to this loneliness
that I cannot comprehend, it leaves
me wanting. This lonely castle wall
where so many poets have cast their
words, thrown their hearts to a new
horizon or a setting sun, is where I
await the tide that brings you forth.
For I know you are real, we have
touched in another time, drank the
wine, made love, danced the dark
hours in passion. Dim my vision
since you waltzed these eyes, my
Queen come to me, come with
haste, fill these arms, fill this
heart, kindle the fires and melt
the ice. Bring me stars , bring me
paradise, give me lips as soft as
snow, give to me your love and
these castle walls would crumble
before your smile. Patiently I
stand these walls, scanning the
seas for that sail that conveys our
union, lonely but so in love.

Palm of Your Hand

Let me walk the palm of your
hand, over the mount of Venus
down the line of life and along
the line of love.
Let our heart lines entwine and
mingle with the lines of fate.
Let our futures be each others
and the stars be radiant.
For in the heavens our love is
written, its glory for all to see,
it falls as stardust, in honour of
you and me.
So let us walk hand in hand and
let the lines entwine, live our
life in paradise, and taste of love
sublime.
And at break of day let love
change its cloak and come in
the form of rays, to provoke
desire and passion throughout
our given days.

Be

Be my moon and be my night
Be the arms that hold me tight
Be the dawn that sings to me
Be my love, and forever be

Be the dew at sunsets dip
Be the touch of sensual lip
Be the beating of my heart
Be my love and never part

Be my sun and be my sky
Be my skylark singing high
Be my ocean and be my sea
Be my love and join with me

Be the pillow that I may lie
Be the clouds for us to fly
Be my wings, lift me higher
Be my love and dreams aspire

Be my life, be eternity
Be my love, just be with me
