Strength of My Mother

In the journey of life, your love stands tall,
Your strength and compassion, guiding us through it all.

You're giving and beautiful, always hiding when you’re not okay.
Independent and determined, come what may.

You've taught us life's lessons, never take life for granted,
Encouraged us to create our path, where dreams are planted.

At a young age you went from foster homes and neglect,
Yet, you found love and courage, your future children you promised to protect.

At seventeen, you fell in love, pregnant with your first child,
Holding your son, so proud, you looked down and smiled.

Things weren’t easy, memories you won’t forget,
Pregnant with your daughter, keeping her, a decision you don’t regret.

15 years of someone that kept hurting you,
You chose what was best, leaving was long overdue.

From J.P Morgan Chase to your cosmetology dream,
You enjoyed making others feel good, your silent therapy given, boosted self-esteem.

Listening to stories, your own life held tight, a secret kept but your heart continues to shine bright.

Years of hard work, you got your own shop,
Your dream accomplished, you finally did it and it’s because you never stopped.

You say your children are capable of it all,
Intelligent and smart, we'll stand tall.

You always put yourself last in line,
Countless memories with you, trips to see the shoreline.

Stronger than ever, you rose above the strife,
For in your heart, you know, family is life.

Through all life’s moments, your loves always there,
Mom, We are forever grateful for the love we all share.

Lost Words

Trembling with fear
In the depth of night
But no "I'm scared"
Was ever in sight

Mind dizzyingly racing
In the wake of day
But "I'm anxious"
I dared not say

Weight of the world
On my chest
"I'm worried" was not
Uttered to the rest

Spiteful daggers
Pierced my skin
While the "I'm hurt"
Remained within

Empty promises
Suffocated with blame
"I'm angry" lost,
Replaced with shame

Achievements abundant
With fear, I leapt
The "I'm proud"
Inside I kept

Efforts unrecognised
Or simply ignored
Saying "I'm disappointed"
I could not afford

Unsure and confused
Blurred direction
Yet no "I'm lost" or
Communal reflection

Starry nights
Lost in an embrace
But even "I'm happy"
Was a hidden case

So many words crushing
This heart of mine
So they could soar freely
Hearing "I'm fine"

Losing Me

As the sun slowly fades it’s dimming light
Pain takes hold and consumes the night.
A mind haunted by what’s to come,
Losing my strength, I start to come undone.

In my reflection, I am left to see,
The toll of sadness that burdens me.
I hear, The whispers of strength left behind,
Echo reminders of a restless mind.

Longing for what I let slip away,
Lost in the faded time of yesterday.
His face etched in my heart, a bittersweet pain,
Unfinished conversations, like drops in the rain.

In the silence of the night, stars shine bright, hopes takes flight, and I try to stop looking at this picture tonight.

As I try to mend these wounds, that cut like a knife,
I search for my strength and try to gain control of my life.

Shadows of myself linger near,
I try to forge a path free from pain and fear.

I don’t want to let go, I want to hold on with all my might,
With balled fists and clinched teeth I try so hard to win this fight.

These hands hurt from the pressure of holding on way too long,
And you can’t understand how and why things go so wrong.

All I can do is watch everything fall apart,
On the ground, all around, broken pieces of this breaking heart.

Hopeless and helpless i know I'm losing all control,
Now empty and searching for something to heal my soul.

Screaming and trying to reach a hand,
Rise upon these feet but I can’t bear to stand.

Overwhelmed by sadness, trapped in the grip of heartache, as memories resurface and stab my heart.
A puzzle once whole, now missing its part,
In the chaos of existence, I keep falling apart.

My Wife

I am taking a risk,
With every step I take.
I am exposing my heart,
With each decision I make.

I left behind the comfort,
Of what I once knew.
Let down my guard,
For the chance to be with you.

When I was consumed by your eyes,
I knew you’d take the gray out of my skies.
You played hard to get,
With words I can’t forget.

As we took the chance,
We began steps to romance.
With every step we take,
More memories we make.

You stumble and fall,
And it’s me you call.
Just know that I’ll be there,
To love you through it all.

We started making future plans,
Joining our hands,
I am yours and you are mine,
Our hearts combine.

I pledge to honor you, love you, and cherish you,
As my wife today and everyday.

Our wedding ring reminds us
Of vows made hand in hand.
Promise and commitment
Are symbols of each band.

Silent Screams

Can you hear my silent screams??
so loud they echo in my dreams.?
Behind this face that carries a smile?,
Lies a dark road that goes on mile after mile.??

My silent screams have been going on for years,?
I only express myself through silent tears??.

How can they hear these silent screams in my mind??They can't hear my thoughts if I keep telling them”I'm fine.”
??What can I tell them?
Silent screams I carry around.?
Feelings of sadness and being imperfect that hold me down.??

How can I explain so people understand this??
It's like walking around in a suffocating black mist??
It's holding on to happiness that easily slips away.
?It just escapes even when you want it to stay.

I can't explain how this feels; it's so extreme,?
So I hold my mouth shut to cover my silent screams.

Cry

Cry out, cry loud.
Cry if you must.
It might not take away the pain,
But it will surely reduce it.
Cry.

Breathe in Breathe out.
Feel the life in you.
Cause when there is life,
There is hope.
Cry.

You can only be a loser,
When you fail to stand up,
After every fall.
Cry.

Cry and rest,
But don't give up.
You are meant to be a winner,
And a winner you will be.
Cry.

You will cry cause you have to,
Not because you accept defeat.
Cause you want to be stronger.
Cry.

Now cry loud,
And get stronger.
Be determined,
Then you have it.
You are a winner.
Cry.

Dad

In the depths of pain, my heart lies torn,
As if I’ve faltered, failed, and mourned.
This heavy burden holds me tight,
I cry for relief, for a ray of light.

My thoughts, they wander, back in time,
To see my dad, once strong, now past his prime.
Gray-haired, frail, and with oxygen in hand,
He stays confined, bedridden, life's demand.

His suffering, a slow and bitter blow,
I watch him fade, and tears freely flow.
My heart, in anguish, beats with sorrow,
Helplessly witnessing his tomorrows.

The image of him, once so bold,
Now suffering, as life unfolds.
A sadness grips, my heart in pain,
Through tearful eyes, I‘ll forever see his name.

I long to halt this painful tide,
To find the strength, stand tall with pride,
But the path ahead is unclear,
I'm lost, afraid, holding fear.
