Chilekezi Adaobi Poem
Why don't I feel your absence?
A painful absence that should tear at my soul
Why don't I feel your absence?
A suffocating absence that should consume my breath
Why?
I reach out
Hoping to hold you
But my hands grasp at thin air
Leaving me lost and feeling small
Reminding me...
Unspoken words
Unwritten absence
Unexpressed thoughts
Are all I have
Because you aren't here.

Chilekezi Adaobi Poem
The sun drenched days turn dreary and gray
As my dreams of love fade slowly away
In the depths of my soul, an ache so deep
For a love that's unattainable, I weep
Like a rose that withers untouched by a bee
I watch love's beauty pass ever so fleetingly
Forlorn and ignored, my heart's silent plea
To be noticed and to be set free.

Chilekezi Adaobi Poem
In ancient times,
Before the predators came
Africa stood tall
With its vibrant flame
A land of secrets
A land of wisdom
Thriving in glory
Flourishing in pride
The beat of the djembe
The sound of the ekwe
Filling the night with
An enchanting display.
History has been lost
Africa has been altered
Trials and tribulations
But our spirits are unbroken.
Through oral traditions
History did unfold,
Preserving legends,
Preserving wisdom.

Chilekezi Adaobi Poem
I write these words, a bittersweet release,
Finding solace in the pain that won't cease.
For unrequited love, though it may sting,
Inspires the poet's heart to passionately sing.
I sing, for I see you
I sing, for you don't see me
I sing, for I want you
I sing, for you don't want me.

Chilekezi Adaobi Poem
I think I am a robot
For I do not possess a soul,
A beating heart,
Emotions.
I am empty.
