You Didn'T Know

It's not your fault,
That he hurt you.
You didn't know,
What he was up to.
You tried to stop it
Before it was too late.
How were you to know
It would lead to date rape?
You pushed his hands off.
You wanted to run away.
But he wouldn't let you,
He made you stay.
You didn't mind the alcohol;
You didn't mind getting high.
Now when you remember that night
You wonder why.
Why didn't you kick?
Why didn't you punch?
When you think about it,
It makes you hurt so much.
You knew it wasn't love,
You knew it wasn't true.
You knew you were nothing,
He was only using you.
I'm sorry it happened.
I'm saying I'm sorry to me.
Because that night I should have known
The way that it would be.
It wasn't another girl
That he abused that night.
It wasn't a dream either,
I was so filled with fright.
I just wanted him to stop.
I just wanted to go.
He pushed me down
When I said no.
When he was finally done,
Finally satisfied,
I walked away and started to cry.
I wish I would have done something,
But I felt so numb.
I wish I wouldn't have followed him.
How could I have been so dumb?
All I now want is forgiveness
From myself and you.
All I want to do is put it in the past,
Please tell me you do to.

Water Falls

Water flows like tears
Falling harder as it goes
Stopping whenever

I Never Thought...

I never thought our marriage would end.

You were my lover, my best friend.

I tried to have faith and remain strong,

But along the way too much went wrong.

Everything you told me was a lie,

It never bothered you to see me cry.

I wanted to see you grow up and be a man,

But now thinking about it, I'm not sure you can.

I gave you all I had inside of me.

When all you wanted was to be free.

Well, now you can have your new, wonderful life.

Forget about me, forget I was ever your wife.

I will get through everything, you will see.

I understand now this is the way it should be.

I will keep on moving right along,

Until I find the place where I belong.

I no longer care about what you do.

Because there no longer is a place in my heart for you.

Lies

My world is crashing down in front of my eyes.

Tired of the false facade, tired of the lies.

When will you be the man I need you to be?

When will you stop hurting me?

I don't want to be with you now,

You have broken every vow.

You kept on pushing and I would bend,

With all you've done, there's no way to mend.

Things between us will never be good.

You refuse to treat me the way you should.

Together we have spent years,

Most spent in tears.

I wish all the bad memories wound not stay,

But the pain you have caused will never go away.

Supposed To

You came into my life with an inviting smile.
I knew it could only last for a little while.
Just like the others, you were destined to leave.
You spoke softly and looked into my eyes.
Never did I think you were capable of lies.
But somehow lies turn into truth along the way.
You made me laugh when I thought I forgot how.
If I had known back then that things could be like now.
I had to feel unforgettable pain instead.
I went through so much in my life.
Felt on my skin the coldness of the knife.
There must be more in store because I kept going.
I was supposed to meet you,
And you were to meet me.
We are to help each other see more than misery.

Save Me

You came in the middle of the night.
You took my hand in yours.
You held on tightly as we walked out the door.
I heard you say "I'll protect you and keep you forever safe."
I believed the words you spoke.
As I had nothing else left to believe in.
You looked into my eyes,
With a stare so deep it scared me.
I felt my heart start to race.
As I didn't know where I was going.
You squeezed my hand and I relaxed.
Somehow knowing I would be okay,
Knowing I could trust you to save me.

Missing You

If I could have one thing,
It would be to have you back in my life.
I would have things be the way they were before it all suddenly stopped.
I'd have your arms around me and your kisses on me.
You would tell me how much you missed me after only a small time apart.
The happiness you brought into my life would return.
The sun would feel warm again,
And everything would be right.
I know I cannot have you.
You were never mine to have.
Your heart has always belonged to someone else.
For a short time, too short of a time,
I got a glimpse of the things I had been missing.
And I felt how good it could feel to have someone be my side.
I know it's all over and you'll never be back.
I just hope some day she will see the wonderful person you are and finally treat you right.
Finally be faithful to you, honest with you, and provide the love you deserve.
I want to be angry, but it's not in me.
I wish for you the best, a life filled with bliss and total happiness.

Life

Life is hard and I'll tell you why.

You trust in someone and all they do is lie.

You open your heart,

They tear it apart.

You try to work though it, try to get by,

But it's hard to do when all you do is cry.

Life really isn't fair

When all you do is care.

Always putting others first,

And they use you until you could burst.

I know who and what I want in my life,

But it's hard to deal when you don't even want me as your wife.
