Supposed To

You came into my life with an inviting smile. I knew it could only last for a little while. Just like the others, you were destined to leave. You spoke softly and looked into my eyes. Never did I think you were capable of lies. But somehow lies turn into truth along the way. You made me laugh when I thought I forgot how. If I had known back then that things could be like now. I had to feel unforgettable pain instead. I went through so much in my life. Felt on my skin the coldness of the knife. There must be more in store because I kept going. I was supposed to meet you, And you were to meet me. We are to help each other see more than misery.
