Graciousness

Graciousness and humility win a heart
Bringing all closer, in this drifting world
She binds us together so we don't fall apart
Graciousness and humility win a heart
To make it happen one must play their part
Against her bosom, safely curled
Graciousness and humility win a heart
Bringing all closer, in this drifting world

Family

Six relatives I could see,
Snug in the word family,
Carrying, a strong message,
Each other they do, happily encourage

Solitary, yet very powerful are they,
Always together, never did betray,
Bound by cords ever so tight,
Rock solid team they made, quite

Can you take a guess?
Are you able to assess?
Who are those six relatives?
Thick, the strongest adhesives.

Allow me, to you explain,
Before you tax your brain,
Biggest support system, they make,
Rock solid not easy to shake.

F stands for fun,
A stands for appreciation,
M stands for memories,
I stands for I,
L stands for love,
Y stands for you

Now I'm sure you can see,
The depth of this word to its highest degree,
Each letter adding its own value,
Stuck together,never do they argue.

Learn from them, musn't we,
To always cherish our family,
When every back is turned away,
Our family is here to stay.

Thank You Father

Dear Father,

Ruler of the heavens, on this very special day,

Crystal clear it is, how much gratitude I feel,

Showering me with endless blessings and love, hand on my head,

Becoming my support system, giving me the best life I could ever have dreamt,

Keeping me in the tender care of your lap when others walked away,

Lending a helping hand, picking me up when I stumbled,

Indebted am I, to you dear Father, in every possible way,

No words can make me express the love I feel for you,

True friend who always stood by my side, in times of need,

Brave soldier who fought every fierce battle, to me save,

Loving parents to comfort me, when I felt like crying,

Brothers and sisters, as lifelong companions, here to stay,

This Christmas I want to convey my message to you,

You came in various forms, to make me feel protected and warm,

Small request, please never leave me, in every situation there may be.

Yours lovingly,

Humble Follower.

Our Bountiful God

Our God is bountiful because

He showers us with abundance,
Seeing no difference , if black or white,
Giving endlessly, if rich or poor,

Loving us unconditionally without ever asking, for us to return.

Our God is bountiful because

He shows us light, when we are blind,
Removing every thorn along our way,
Cushioning the hardest of blows,

Loving us in a pure and comforting way, without ever asking for us to return.

Our God is bountiful because

He knows what to give us and when,
His timing is always perfect,
Before we speak, he gets the signs,

Loving us like a mother does her child, without ever asking for us to return.

Our God is bountiful because

He knows when we feel alone,
Always there to lend a helping hand,
And pick us up when we fall,

Loving us, bestowing endless blessings, without ever asking for us to return.

Our God is bountiful because

Thanksgiving

I had never truly understood the meaning of thanksgiving
Till one day I was shown a glimpse of the Lord above
A frequent visitor to the church I was
Always carried his faith in my heart.

As I waited to hear the list of survivors
My son being a soldier in the army
A fierce battle had been fought, many to it were lost
Recalling the tears in his eyes the last he bid goodbye

Clutching me tight, "Mother, pray I don't make you cry."
You won't my darling, have faith in him above
He takes care of us all, so tender is his love
Our fingers parted softly, he was gone without another word

Sinking heart , of the news to be broken
Oh! Lord please return my boy, at your feet I shall stay
Listening afraid, to the names being called
He was not amongst the ones who the Lord had chosen.

Tears rolled down my cheeks flushed with relief so great
I had never been so close to losing someone, so dear
The biggest part of me could have been lost forever
But my faith surely made me value thanksgiving even more.

Atlantic Beauty

A soft shadow was cast,
As we spot a magnificent ship with a mast.
Who had a vision in this world?
Of the stories, that were to be, left untold.

Spectacular in every way, Queen of the vast ocean.
Did she too also not have the slightest of notion.
Life is best if led in the present moment,
And this holds true even for the most influential exponent.

A new day had begun,
A new song was sung.
Anticipation hadn't left,
Not a soul felt empty and bereft.

They embarked on her maiden voyage,
In grandeur, with a stupendous image.
A jewel of the water was she,
So powerful, an achiever, won't all agree?
Every heart was captive,
A poets true narrative.

Laughter filled the air,
Spirits were alive, not a trace of despair.
Fun and games and food galore,
Perfectly happy as never afore.
Dancing and singing all were uplifted,
Hearts with a feeling of being truly gifted.

Unfortunately destiny doesn't always go our way,
Especially when nature has the final say.
Who was to know what awaited them that night,
When a glassy form of ice dimmed the moonlight.
The captain tried with all his might,
But sadly he was soon to lose this fight.

Magnificence doesn't always win the race,
The tall and mighty may too have to face.
Yes, life is unfair to all at times,
Ending our song slowly softening our chimes.

A Night of Horror

Black cats and witches on brooms,
Skeletons emerging out of their tombs.
Eerie bats with bloodshot eyes,
Pale, evil ghosts who all demonize.

Monsters crawling through the night,
Giving all a terrible fright.
The dead come alive in the wintry darkness,
A horrid creature creeping through the window, faceless.

Zombies feasting on squishy warm brains,
In the air the smell of raw flesh remains.
Blood curdling shrieks from dungeons below,
As a ghoulish alien walks by very slow.

Vampires with blood trickling down their fangs,
Satiating their intense hunger pangs.
The Devil was truly diabolical in his ways,
Using trickery to lure kids into dingy hallways.

Kids on the street paralyzed with fear,
Expecting abduction from anything near.
Whispering cautionary words to each other,
They held on tight to one another.

Now we shall wait to go trick or treating again,
And smash creepy pumpkins that we obtain.
By and far the scariest Halloween anyone had seen,
Young and old won't forget this bone-chilling scene.
