Atlantic Beauty
A soft shadow was cast,
As we spot a magnificent ship with a mast.
Who had a vision in this world?
Of the stories, that were to be, left untold.
Spectacular in every way, Queen of the vast ocean.
Did she too also not have the slightest of notion.
Life is best if led in the present moment,
And this holds true even for the most influential exponent.
A new day had begun,
A new song was sung.
Anticipation hadn't left,
Not a soul felt empty and bereft.
They embarked on her maiden voyage,
In grandeur, with a stupendous image.
A jewel of the water was she,
So powerful, an achiever, won't all agree?
Every heart was captive,
A poets true narrative.
Laughter filled the air,
Spirits were alive, not a trace of despair.
Fun and games and food galore,
Perfectly happy as never afore.
Dancing and singing all were uplifted,
Hearts with a feeling of being truly gifted.
Unfortunately destiny doesn't always go our way,
Especially when nature has the final say.
Who was to know what awaited them that night,
When a glassy form of ice dimmed the moonlight.
The captain tried with all his might,
But sadly he was soon to lose this fight.
Magnificence doesn't always win the race,
The tall and mighty may too have to face.
Yes, life is unfair to all at times,
Ending our song slowly softening our chimes.
