Shreshtha Mishra Poem
All about last night
There were traffic sounds and loud music
The voices fell on my ears but it's like I could hear nothing
There were people around me calling my name probably
Trying to wake me up
But I could feel nothing but coldness of wind on my hands
There were thoughts, thousands of them
Piercing my body like a sharp pointed needle
But I was numb, numb to all the pain it caused
And the only thing I could think of was
How soothing it will be when my soul will leave my body leaving a peaceful smile on my face
Knowing that I've given all the love, life and goodness I had in me
The last shred of heart is now sold
And all beautiful yellows are now empty black
And with that thought I felt asleep, tears of joy drying on face dreaming about how freeing this will be.
No thought of my aspirations, things or people I loved or the desires I had were as good as this thought, everything was ashen.
And today when I woke up, I was a bit confused for it was all the same
Loud people, chirping birds, barking dogs
And then my heart synchronized with my mind and said - "Now is not the time".

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
There is a kind, Someone like me
Waking up to 100 or no messages
And warm good morning from sun
Chirping birds welcomes the smile, coffee soothes the eye.
The white sky greets us in the noon
pen and diary await the moon
Our fingers run down the messy hair
Patting us, saying "you made it to another stair"
Silently we sit, giving words to thoughts
Sunkissed portrayed with moonlight and stars
We don't look and smile, but smile and look
Like the light twinkling at a distance
Shining with a gleam that changes constantly from bright to faint.
There is a kind, Someone like me
As colourful as the butterfly, glowing like a firefly
There is a kind, someone like me
As amazing as the art of Rome ,
As mild and sweet like the blue wine of Spain and
As bright as flowers of Amsterdam.
Finding happiness in French toast and pancakes
To breaking down amidst paper bits
There is a kind, someone like me
Learning and laughing through conventional mainstream
There is a kind, someone like me
Loving and dreaming of a land-of-milk-and-honey.

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
Pink petals and green leaves
Frankincense fragrance with ocean's whiff
The sun's rays lay roses
Spring walks in while the bird coos
The crops dance along to welcome the love,
Shades of sky witness the fun.
The earthlings however still asleep,
Dreaming of rainbows and cloudy cream.
The church bell marks the arrival of peace
Happiness blossoming, adding beauty to a once lost street.

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
Quieter the night is
Deeper the secrets are
It's all about the backstage show
The chaos color black knows
Heavy are the clouds, heavier the emotions
Happy songs maintaining devotion
Lips are shut, but the eyes are speaking
Thousands of words which could just be written
And every phrase it forms
Gives the glimpse of the night
Night of strong conviction
Winning inner fights
Screaming what's inside
Every word of the piece
Tells the state of mind
Like
A night of visible galaxy and
One moonless..
Both have the music
Rhythm unheard
Stories untold
Yet clapping for the front line drama shown.

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
We all have a journey to finish
We all have to pick pearls amidst pebbles
We meet new souls on the way
out of whom, some teach, some stay.
You may be an angel in someone's story
You may be a blot in another's
But, every heart you see, beats similarly,
finding it's way to anything that feels like paradise.
It may hurt when you lose touch
You may love another summer
But when on the road
Walking towards your ultimate goal,
Remember to take breaks to feel gratitude
towards every single wonderful hand you held once
For my friend, that's what the prayer of
happiness is all about.

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
Ever touched a cactus?
When your grandma said, don't touch it
And your curious heart just couldn't listen
Then, your lil rosy hands set their fingers
On that green plant,
For a second, nothing happened
And your racing heart relaxed
But then it skipped a beat
And you realise how itchy it is
And you scream coz your palm is burning
And even after applying all the home-made pastes
The pain doesn't go away
And you cry and blame your heart for
Stepping into everything without thinking
Just to satisfy the need of giving you tachycardia
Same is with love
The heart plays violin without asking
And it all smells lavender
The dahlias are growing around
And you start craving for that vanilla relationship
That one second when nothing happened is like
Those days when you write letters
And feel that this is it
But oh you, naive you
Your eyes fail to see
Your ears fail to hear
Your mind fails to sense
That it was all an illusion and that you should've listened to your gut that said "Don't touch it"
" Don't touch this plant, you will get hurt"
Now your hair are a mess and eyes swollen
Tears have dried but heart still broken
"Maybe, maybe, if, I would have, I could have
But I didn't " that's all you can think
Advices and sympathy are like that paste, healing but that suffering just doesn't go away.
Shakespeare and Elizabeth
They all lied
Love is no paradise
If anything it is, it feels like hell
Swimming in the lake of fire
Feeling cold and dead
You wouldn't take it all back, if offered
Because your heart of gold
Has fallen in love
That’s all I wanna ask through whatever I am writing today
Is this love? Is this what they call angelic, magical, noble and pure?

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
Dear fellow being,
You don't know me
But yeah, I was once
a hopeless romantic like you
Cards and flowers were my favourite
And chocolates, my share of happiness
Like you, I danced to happy tunes
And sang with the rain
I wrote my dreams with colors
But now I believe in nothing but black
Sunrises and sunsets were peaceful
And full moon nights, the manifestation of love
Now it's just another day, I have to get through
No no, I lack no confidence and joy
But pinks are now blues
And yellows are gray
The pillars of trust are more ashen
And love is another bargain.
But could you please be kind enough
And compose me into a poem?
Like I used to compose someone like you
Will you write a song in my name??
That'll give me a glimpse of the world I left
Will you climb the tree with me
And share my laughter and craziness??
Will you dance with me
All night long under the bright stars???
On "when you say nothing at all" by Ronan Keatings
So that I can experience the comfort of love
One last time, One last radiant hue.

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
Shivers down the spine
You hold things tight
Sweet fragrance tickles your belly
Eye contacts seems like
Stars glaring out of the black sky
That touch overpowers your senses
You are taken to places unknown
You can hear your heart beat growing fast
With every deep sweet second of explore
You can feel the flower blossoming
And the heat of the sun on your skin
You can feel your fingers dancing
With the coldness of the wind
You start to discover every inch
Capturing it through your heart
You feel that passion burning inside
To never end this beautiful part..
That rushing blood in veins
And strong arms around you
Numbs the nerves
Each second is different than the other
Increasing desires and thirst
The effects of kissing are not in our possession
But we own them for the time being
And you float in the air
And smile through it
For now you know what forever means.
And before you withdraw yourself
From those far places you are taken to
The last second gives you a taste of love
For now you have understood
What they truly meant when they said
" It can be a cure, an epiphany,
a disaster, a transformation"
And you are left with a feeling of contentment
And a memory to withhold
You feel complete but body longs for more..

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
When the moon light falls on the river
it enhances it's beauty..
The same way,
when the right person will touch your heart,
you will know how to hold on to love
The feeling will be new,
but the soul will feel familiar..
Everything will be impossible to describe
yet so easy to understand..
All so natural and pure
You will see the sun,
where you once saw the clouds..
The fragrance of rain drops,
the heat of the summer...
The cold of the winter..
And the calmness of the spring and fall..
All will be felt at the same time...
All from that one person..
Your home,Your heart's treasure ??
It will not be any high school story...
Or some broken love tales..
Yes the lyrics will hit different..
You will be caught smiling
Your cheeks will turn red
when someone will take their name...
But it will be beyond any explainable thought
Beyond your happiest imagination
Beyond your big desires and aspirations
That’s when you will know
that you have fallen
for the most unexpected person
at the most unexpected time??

Shreshtha Mishra Poem
My fingers smell rosy today
My arms are adorned with the fragrance of blue sky
My tresses are flooded with the softness of moonlight
My eyes recite the story of the shining sun
I smile and it feels like power to me
Power I have over myself and my heart
I know I can do wonders
For I have the magic of art.
I just have to swish and flick
Or click and clap
So a new different world shall be created
The new happy wonderland.
Not everyone knows how it feels
To be aware of everything that makes a human
Not everyone know the science behind it
I however have mingled with orchids and sunflowers
And the universe is now my right hand
I have the magic wand
And I draw in hues, bright and magnificent
Like a teeny tiny butterfly.
