Beryl Edmonds Poem
Sir Richard Branson - Rocket Man
There was a boy who had not fared well at school
Years gone by and no one could call him a fool
Now a business tycoon and philanthropist
Virgin records, first venture on his checklist.
The owner of the Virgin Group he became
An entrepreneur with stand out claim to fame
Though it was not always a smooth sailing ride
He took the failures and mishaps in his stride.
Sir Richard Branson, born in nineteen fifty
Dyslexia made school a difficulty
That didn’t stop him chasing his ambition
He was determined to follow his vision.
A star in the making he just would not quit
Nothing and no one would stand in way of this
Each successful venture led to another
Outer space was the quest above all other.
Exploring space travel Sir Richard wished to do
Virgin Galactic has made the dream come true
This year SpaceShipTwo made its first test flight
The six on board had the journey of their life.
Sir Richard’s virtue is a lesson to all
His charitable kindness defines his call
We have to admire this boundless superman
May he continue for as long as he can.
It goes to show however humble life starts
Determination can fly one to the stars.

Beryl Edmonds Poem
How long will I love you, often you ask
Forever and a day, my love will last
Till there’s no blossom or leaves upon trees
Or pretty daffodils dancing o’er breeze.
Till clouds cease to form patterns in the sky
All seas and rivers begin running dry
Till all poets have no poetic prose
Or night has no beginning, day no close.
Till no man or creature walks upon earth
Gold or silver has no value or worth
Till there are no birds flying on the wing
Or voices aren’t heard and no one can sing.
Till the day we take our Heavenly place
Living for eternity in God’s grace
With time to dance among stars up above
Darling I send this in glimmers of love.

Angels are the proof that heaven exists
Where there’s despair they appear from the mist.
Quote- Poet’s own
Standing beneath a weeping willow tree
A sweet angel came and whispered to me
Dry your tears my dear, I’m always with thee.

Beryl Edmonds Poem
Wondering how fairies obtain dresses?
It's because they have fairy seamstresses
Sewing with pine needles and spidery
Gathered from spiders fine web filigree.
Pretty petals for fabric, leaves for shoes
Smelling of sweet fragrant floral perfume
Flowers to adorn their flowing tresses
Crystal star droplets sown into dresses.
Gossamer to turn into fairy wings
So fairies may fly in sky, revelling
Sprinkles of fairy dust, a wand for luck
When all dressed up, so pretty fairies look.
When you find fairies in a fairy glade
Recall how their lustrous outfits are made.

Beryl Edmonds Poem
Come sit awhile with me
Love is a serenade of the soul
a harmony that never grows old.Quote ~ poets own
* * *
Won't you come and sit awhile with me
here beneath the weeping willow tree
Take a rest and let your mind be free
of pain, distress and anxiety.
The willow weeps to see true love part
and is a shelter for broken hearts
A safe haven of serenity
to restore shattered tranquility.
Come listen and hear the sweet birdsong
release the hurt you've felt for so long
Tears will help heal the sorrow and pain
allowing your heart to sing again.
One day it won't ever sting at all
only the tenderness you'll recall
For nothing is lovelier, it's true
than a love that meant so much to you.
Treasure the first whispered "I Love You"
Keep it near and dear, forever do
The melody of love's sweet refrain
worn like a beautiful golden chain.
If only shared kisses could be kept
they would overfill a treasure chest
Every one a precious diamond gem
part of the love that they represent.
Memories are truly heaven blessed
moments far too precious to forget
Warming one's heart in so many ways
in beautiful dreams of yesterdays.

When robins appear an angel is near.

A memorial dedicated to my mother who suffered from dementia for many years.
November 1920 - July 2008
Mother and Dementia
When dementia creeps in, through the back door
Loving is needed, like never before...
An expressionless face, an empty heart
A once dazzling life that had lost it's spark
I saw your sad tears and felt every fear
Of foggy days that for you never cleared.
All disappeared, those happy golden years
Memories you held, so precious, so dear
The loveliest of smiles, gone without trace
Who was that stranger who dwelt in your place.
Tenderness was missing, none existing
Care and affection you were resisting
It sure broke my heart, to see you like that
When we'd shared love and friendship in the past.
My one and only forever mother
There couldn't have been a better another
I still pray in hope, again and again
You didn't suffer any physical pain.
As you loved and cared, like a mother should
I cared for you, as I promised I would
I hope that these words to heaven get through
"Dearest Mother, I will always love you."

Mother of Nature
"The sounds of Earth is the music of my soul."Quote written by: Constance La France
*+*
Who is the mystic mother of nature
The one who paints the earth in such grandeur
Working away hardly taking a break
Changing the seasons with finessing grace.
Spring sings pleasantly o'er whispering breeze
Humming through newly sprung leaves upon trees
Blossom on boughs which for long had stood bare
Their delicate fragrance lingers on air.
Earth is gleeful when summer has begun
Flora and fauna bloom beneath the sun
And what delight to be beside the sea
As waves ebb and flow melodiously.
Autumn's the time to gather harvest fruits
A picturesque view for lovers pursuits
Flamboyant leaves are preparing their dance
The swaying, swirling ballet of romance.
Gracefully serene is the winter scene
Frosty mornings, crystal snowflakes that sheen
Choirs out carol singing below the moon
Excited are children, it's Christmas soon.
Mother of nature toils undefeated
Till every single task is completed
Loving all seasons she gives of her best
It's a must to show her bequest respect.

Beryl Edmonds Poem
Swans so gracefully gliding o'er lake
Delightful scenery they create
Dressed all in white feather finery
True beauties of the lake dynasty.
Falling in love with love forever
Swan mates dance on water together
Singing a swan lake song as they roam
The glorious lake they've made their home.
When swans in love kiss with a beak peck
A heart shape appears betwixt their necks
A smaller vision between the eyes
Romanticism in lake's paradise.
Swans raise their precious baby cygnets
Till they've grown to become strong and fit
Off to their own world they glide away
The circle of life in a relay.
Elegant they live, with poise they die
On angelic wings away they fly
Then when they've entered through heaven's gate
Swans will sage nirvana with lake sate.

O for the Wings, Eyes and Ears of an Owl
~~~
Assuming we could do eye-popping things
As does an owl flying the night on wings
When no one knows of antics in moonlight
O for the mystique of a silent flight.
Imagine having circular vision
It'd be alike watching television
If we should be as farsighted as owls
We would never miss anything ourselves.
Should we have eyes in the back of our head
We would still miss out on lots, our dreams unfed
Unlike owls who with rotating heads seek
Prey fit for a sumptuous midnight feast.
If we had owls spectacular eye sight
And stupendous hearing for sounds of night
Imagine when we were walking around
The hot gossip and secrets to be found.
What a hooting tooting it’d surely be
To be a wise owl sitting in a tree
Hearing and seeing all right through the night
What wonderful poetry one could write.
Beryl Edmonds Poem
Thorn of the Rose
Beware thy fragile gentle sweet rose
When a dragon holds you to his nose
With those nostrils that ignite and flare
Or thou will no longer bloom so fair.
Burned to nothing but a brittle crisp
Dragon will then place you to his lips
He’ll gobble you up in one swallow
For you there will be no tomorrow.
Weep not my elegant fragrant rose
Some advice for monsters to oppose
There's a way to chase danger away
So you'll live to bloom another day.
Though with grace and beauty you were made
Show your thorns and do not be afraid
The terrorist must then set you free
As the wounds would sting him profusely.
Once again your tender heart will sing
Songs of love and magnificent things
I have a message for would be foes
Dragons beware the thorn of the rose.
