He Was Alright, We Just Didn'T Get Along

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
It started out great,
But then it went all wrong.

The tone of his voice,
The words he chose to use.
The way he never cared,
That he was giving me the blues.

He as al right,
We just didn't get along.
Instead of making love,
He'd rather hit the bong.

No matter what we'd do.
No matter how hard I cried.
He pulled me by the hand,
And took me for his ride.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
He wanted me to be weak,
But I was made to be strong.

He tried to overpower me,
The way he'd push and shove.
But I didn't run out of strength,
I just ran out of love.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
He wanted me to cry,
When I was trying to sing a song.

I finally just got tired,
And had to go away.
There was nothing more to argue,
Nothing more to say.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
Sometimes to get the right,
You have to pass the wrong.

A Heart Made of Stone

If my lips could really tell you
The things I feel inside
I wouldn't be the one
To run away and hide.

If your mirror had double vision
And you could see the way you are
Your fake smile and cocky attitude
Wouldn't get you very far.

All those things you say
If you could hear how stupid they sound
You might be so embarrassed
That you wouldn't stick around.

You play the poor, poor me game
But when push comes to shove
You cant play a game of catch
Without a ball and glove.

You get what you put in
Thats what your getting back
Not an ounce of care from me
It's my turn to slack.

I'll forget you need a smile
Forget you need a kiss
Forget your lying next to me,
Forget that you exist.

Pretend I live alone
and only for myself
I'll put the love I have for you
In the closet on a shelf.

I'll only pull you out
When I feel I'm getting lonely
Which would probably never happen
If someone else was my one and only.

If I throw out all your pictures
I might forget your face
If I move to somewhere else
I might forget this place.

I will always remember,
The way you made me feel.
And I will always remember,
That your heart is made of steel.

I'll find someone to love me,
But you'll always be alone.
It's impossible to love someone
Who's heart is made of stone.

Getting Rid of You

My hands begin to tremble,
And my heart begins to break,
My mind it draws a blank,
And my body begins to shake.

I'm not sure how to tell you,
I'm not sure you'd even care,
Which might hurt even more,
But the feelings just aren't there.

You use to make me laugh.
You use to make me smile.
Even though I prayed for us...
I knew all the while.

You needed me for then.
But I need me for now.
I've got to get me back,
Someday, some way, somehow

You played me for a fool.
You proved you run the game,
But the reasons we were playing
Were not at all the same.

You played to kill some time,
To amuse your selfishness.
You played to win the game though,
And I helped you none the less.

But now the game has ended,
And even though I lost,
Losing you to better myself,
Seems highly worth the cost.

You'll go on and find someone else,
And I'm sure she'll play your game.
but when you end up sad and alone,
Remember who's to blame.

You did it before and you'll do it again.
It's fun to break a heart,
But I'm putting mine back together,
Piece by piece and part by part.

To my amusement its working well.
You cant even see the glue.
Imagine when I've forgotten this,
All the things I'll do.

I'll find someone to love me right.
Until the day I do,
I'll remember how I bettered my life
By getting rid of you.
