Getting Rid of You

My hands begin to tremble,
And my heart begins to break,
My mind it draws a blank,
And my body begins to shake.

I'm not sure how to tell you,
I'm not sure you'd even care,
Which might hurt even more,
But the feelings just aren't there.

You use to make me laugh.
You use to make me smile.
Even though I prayed for us...
I knew all the while.

You needed me for then.
But I need me for now.
I've got to get me back,
Someday, some way, somehow

You played me for a fool.
You proved you run the game,
But the reasons we were playing
Were not at all the same.

You played to kill some time,
To amuse your selfishness.
You played to win the game though,
And I helped you none the less.

But now the game has ended,
And even though I lost,
Losing you to better myself,
Seems highly worth the cost.

You'll go on and find someone else,
And I'm sure she'll play your game.
but when you end up sad and alone,
Remember who's to blame.

You did it before and you'll do it again.
It's fun to break a heart,
But I'm putting mine back together,
Piece by piece and part by part.

To my amusement its working well.
You cant even see the glue.
Imagine when I've forgotten this,
All the things I'll do.

I'll find someone to love me right.
Until the day I do,
I'll remember how I bettered my life
By getting rid of you.
