He Was Alright, We Just Didn'T Get Along

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
It started out great,
But then it went all wrong.

The tone of his voice,
The words he chose to use.
The way he never cared,
That he was giving me the blues.

He as al right,
We just didn't get along.
Instead of making love,
He'd rather hit the bong.

No matter what we'd do.
No matter how hard I cried.
He pulled me by the hand,
And took me for his ride.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
He wanted me to be weak,
But I was made to be strong.

He tried to overpower me,
The way he'd push and shove.
But I didn't run out of strength,
I just ran out of love.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
He wanted me to cry,
When I was trying to sing a song.

I finally just got tired,
And had to go away.
There was nothing more to argue,
Nothing more to say.

He was al right,
We just didn't get along.
Sometimes to get the right,
You have to pass the wrong.
