Peace

Hey! you comrades hear my cry
I am subdued in woe and senseless violence
Thoughts of woe that trigger my mind
But I know of peace as the antidote
Put on the robe of selfless deeds and pure thoughts
Then hold my hands let’s walk along
And let our bond be our strength
Though downtrodden, weak and our hearts are weary.

Hey! you cadets my brothers be
Burn your guns and egos now
And watch the flames release our peace
Hey, you beautiful daughters of the sun
Spit out those words that wound your heart
And let the ears that care listen.

Hold my starving hands and walk along
Adorn yourselves in this blissful and hopeful march
Sweetened by the beauty of unity
Hail you noble hearers of my cry
Revamp my strength to fight this battle.

To crush these hurdles that made us part,
To crush these egos and hateful thoughts,
That seized me from my comrades.
The wind has whispered its message
And the birds have sang it in their hymn,
Peace is the antidote.

Throw away those unholy thoughts to the winds
And rejoice in the splendor of beautiful peace
Denounce violent extremism
Then the darkness of tomorrow shall be brighter than today’s light
Hail you noble hearers of my tidings
Harness my cry and instigate my hope.

Mama Africa

Real African Woman!
True African Woman!
Free born African Woman!
Divine touch of finest hands
Long hair, steady eyes, dark brows,
And catchy looks
Free born African woman
The envy of the universe
I thougt it was all rumour
I took it to be fantasy
As i slumbered in the comfort of your belly,
then i thought it was a dream
When the winds mumured your goodness
When the vultures plotted against you
And when the earth paid you tribute
Oh! Fearless woman of the forest
You stood the storms and tides
And each thought of me,
Triggered hope and courage
This free born African woman
With sunken jaws and painful limbs
With fallen breast in her tattered clothing
Has sworn to bravery and courage
And has crushed all her adversaries
But now a fallen heroen,
That needs to become sober
After being injected with the cobra's venom
That which forcefully harshed me from your womb
Oh free born African woman
I wish to hear your tale
Rebuild your strength again,
And walk along with me,
 let me be your armor
and light your lamb at night.

Mama

Your tongue is full of countless words
But you chose the best to feed my mind
You gave me purpose
Not just parcels
You’ve gone through pains and scornful moments
And that smile has never divorced your face
You spilt out love like heaven’s showers
And even the barest of it will make me breath
Though I fall during my duty, I only fall
because perfection is inhuman
Let the rain wash away your fear
And may the sun dry away your tears
But if the ocean waters dry, I will cry my tears to sail you through

Little Jones

Jones my boy is back
Who takes the cat for a pack
He loves a glass of ale
Which makes him grow so pale
He drinks his stuff till dawn
And feels his task is done
He loves his little hut
His dog you dare not hurt
He loves to sit in the cold
And tell the tales of old
He has his little arrow
But the countysite is narrow
In our sphere i am the fon
But he lives his life for fun.

Sunrise

A gang of hooligans
 marched down to the north
Through the sandy field
Thier horses wore no hoofs
They fed from our beautiful plantations
And loaded thier sacks with seeds
They drank from our secret springs
And trampled on our gardens
They tampered with our women
And took away their dignity
They burnt our tongues with whips
And bath our homes with flames
But its a painful melancholy that
That the vulture’s hands are closed
And its smile is getting broader
As they walk through the northern reliefs,
Savoring the gentle breeze and sweet melody of the birds
Smoking and revamping their strength
All fingers on the trigger, plotting and boosting their speed
But their saddles are exasperated
As their horses wear no hoofs
They can’t go any further
Than to stand on our secret groove
And be swallowed by the wrath of the earth

My Strength

My playful moments are gone
I live in an ocean of pain an sorrows
"outcast" is what they call me
Torture is the only constant thing I know
My happiness is far-fetched
And though I live with monsters,
I have a heart that loves
And I give back love for hate
Right in a pool of pain I can feel my strength grow
Because I have heart that loves
And when hate an love meet,
Love conquers hate.

Cry of the Unborn

A keg of palm wine and cola nuts,
To cleanse our land from the plague.
Enchant the names of our ancestors,
For them to rise for libation.
But if you’ve gone to rest,
Then rest in peace I pray.
And let the spirits do, for I know they hear our voice.
Fetch our tears tonight,
And cleanse the land I pray.
For if we die tonight, we rest in peace I pray.
Our tears are wiped by fear,
Our sorrows cometh in the morning.
We know no peace nor joy,
As day and night we cry.
Where I am is cold
As the one who gives me warmth,
Has nowhere to rest.
Distress is what she feels,
And her pain is how I feel.

Apocalypse

You raided our dreadful slums
And sniffed us out of our homes
You vomited on our skin
And called us names like ‘bushmen’
You stripped us naked
And buckled up your coats
You stole our gold
And punched our dimples
You ate our food, while we slept in cold
You aborted our wood
And tied us on floating trunks
Now heading to the west
Oh! you Nile our mother
Take us back to home
At home lies our hope
Free us from this bondage
And take us out of darkness
Oh! you Nile our mother
Oh! You great Nile
Cut this wooden wagon
And take us back to the east
Leave us at the coast
And sound the trumpets loud
Tell them we are back!
Tell them we are home!
And let the feasting start!!!

Rosemary

The sun rises and fades away
but our love will never fade away
the birds fly and perch at fall
but our love will soar and know no rest
Rosemary my love,
Stretch out your hand and take my heart
Hold it like a lamb in the dark and sail along with me
Bear the weight of my heavy emotions and ride along with me
Let the heavens lead us through
And the stars listen to our tidings
Let the sweet and beautiful sun rays be our bond
May your rising be my rise
And may your fall be my fall.
An ancient myth that has been bugging my mind
Has been unraveled right before my eyes
You are perfect rose
Your mistakes are sweeter than honey
You are the pride of the African nature
And everything about you makes me crazy
Let Venus sit down on a stool, and tell our tale when we are gone.

Worried Crown

The crown looks worried,
The subjects are questioning,
The village is deserted
But the kinsmen keep on playing
The same old drums,
The same drum that led our ancestors to their doom
The same drums that led to wars and calamities,
The same drums that marked an end to peace
The same drums that scared women and children out of their homes,
The same drums which declared us slaves in our homeland
The same drums…………….
