Safe Yank
The American was a typical man of his breed
Loving guns and weapons and ammunitions
He had a huge collection of firearms at home
Well over 300 rifles and hand guns of all kinds
From Red China via Albania to Belgium
And American editions along with Russian
He went to the range twice a week to shoot
Keeping up his proficiency in case of threat
Whether the threat of Communist invasion
Or Muslim extremists targeting malls and buses
He was ready to go and all set for the war
His bunker was prepped for the Boogaloo
If it happened was a different matter
In his head he’d fought it a hundred times
With a dozen different battle plans
He won every single time for he was right
With the best training intent and will power
Plus Sweet Lord Jesus was on his side
What could possibly go wrong in war?
It would come calling soon enough
MAJOR INSOMNIA
CORPORAL SLEEP

You Can’t Yank My Chain
Written: by Tom Wright
1/14/2013
I don’t lease space within my head,
To allow an opinion to lay and fester;
I’ll not permit others to cause me dread,
Or my deepest thoughts to sequester;
I value friendships if they’re refined,
And convey to me no pre-conditions.
Don’t come to me with change in mind,
Daring to take, or change, inhibitions.
You’ll find I won’t be a friend so kind,
If inflicting on me any unwanted pain;
It won’t merit the effort you’ll find,
For I won’t allow you, to yank my chain;

In Afghanistan, understand there was a young yank,
Who from that awful country President tried to yank;
From where we sat,
He is a total dingbat,
And do presume that this is another foolish prank.

Often wondered, what really turns my crank
Basically don't care as long as it doesn't clank
Though sometimes it squeaks
Causes redness of cheeks
Especially at the end when it's given a big yank

Midnight is waving a keen goodbye
It's time to yank away the galling music box
Let the dawn echo your lullaby
