World's Most Wanted

If someone spoke a different language to you,
Would you kill them?
If somebody worshipped a different god than you,
Would you kill them?
You, personally, would you kill them?
How much hatred could you be filled with
All because someone lives a different life to you?
Why are we, as people, so averse to the unknown;
So desperate to destroy what we don’t understand?
What happens if we find aliens—
Something we’ve talked about for so long—
And they have a different way of life than we do?
Would we tear them apart
Just because, in our eyes, their culture is “wrong”,
Even after being so desperate to meet them?
Yes, this world we live in has a painful history of destruction;
Of wanting everyone in one box; all the same;
Everyone like this one “perfect” example of how we should be.
But why do such obscene things
Just because something is new and strange
And is therefore labelled evil?
We can’t live sheltered lives forever:
There will always be so many things we don’t know;
Something we haven’t encountered before.
Yet thousands have been killed—probably more—
And why? We are all humans. Yet, somehow,
We have made each other our greatest enemies.

The Meaning of Is Is

The Left worshipped a man called Slick Willy
Who kept under his desk a young filly
He made a big mess
Of her new blue dress
To complain of a stain she was silly

I Read About God In the Bible

I Read About God In the Bible…

I read about God, when I read the Bible.
And read about many, who worshipped a false idol.

I read about his eternal love and grace displayed.
And how many sought his help as they prayed.

I read about God’s mighty wonders and power!
And that his promises remain the same each hour!

I read about good and bad nations being shaken!
If they trusted God, they were not forsaken!

I read about how the Old Testament foretold.
Of a wonderful savior, for all to behold!

I read about this savior’s death on the cross!
He was the sacrifice for the dying and lost!

There was a message of God’s redemption!
And the power of Christ’ resurrection!

This book foretold the signs of the end times!
And how there’d be many lost minds!

The book of Revelation makes it clear!
The return of our Lord is very near!

 God gave us his word, and is alive today!
Please listen to him! Simply trust and obey!

He’s here! And patiently waits for all to come!
And accept salvation, through Jesus, his son!

Glory to God! To him, may we give our praise!
And serve him as our God! All of our days!

Plastic Holiday

Christmas trees made of flimsy plastic
No thanks, Santa, I'm not that drastic
  Predecorated trees? No!
  Don't want a Christmas "to go"
This tinsel nightmare is fantastic

Salvation Army man rings his bell
Hoping apathy he will dispel
  The reason for this season
  To forget seems like treason
As we watch store owners pockets swell

The three wise men had it right you see
Worshipped a babe, not a tinsel tree
  Omit the nativity
  And create a travesty
Commercialized Christmas:  Not for me
