Wonderments Poems | Examples

Xanadu

Xanadu, a replica of paradise
A place of opulence and regalia
rivaling god’s wonderments on earth,
The very citadel of pomp and pageantry
Befitting the king of kings
The khan of all khans!
A palace showcasing
his immense power and
extent of his conquest.
A place of pleasure and finesse
a place of magnificence and beauty
a place to indulge in wildest whims
and personal quest to narcissism.

Is Xanadu a mythical place in Mongolia?
Or, a legendary palace built with
a giant dome to indulge
Kublai Khan’s every fantasy?!

Matthew 7-7

Truth is a question,
all answers abstain

Its dream open ended
—wonderments gain

Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual Awakening

There are these echoes of sound, in each waking hour
Within the stillness, your intuitive mind may empower
Giving you thoughts to ponder, questioning reality
Where in the schemes of life, lies your mortality

Cast off the burdens of the queries in your mind
Transformation, leaving your former self behind
Transcending you towards an enlightenment anew
An insightfulness of all the wonderments of you

From whence all of time and space once began
There is an alignment within this universe and man
To the spiritually awakened, those who understand
This connection evokes the human mind to expand

Premium MemberSubstance of My Failure

Turning the pages of your inner breathe
Somehow this is all you have left
You seek refuge in the thrash
While cowering in the tall grass
You wonder
As you ponder
You shiver
as you give all shaking, you quiver
At last no one cares
Wonderments of distortions you share
What am I to do
Who are you to choose
All I have to give is my last breathe
You go right I am in awe I go left. . .

Intentions Yearn

Night skies bend through fading light
spectrum hints of prodigy pale might
restless moons hold her penchant still
burning up in an ever aching sky till

Forehead to forehead wonderments lie
stargazes trapped among cinnamon eyes
dance naked amid sensual tips of desire
fires fed stoked gasped airs spilling higher

Hush the night roam in fantasy fields
foreign found objects of affection yield
faint scratches the surface silently burns
affected simper rest transient intentions yearn

Beyond the Hills

As the cloud floats up in the hills
We watch it from a distance
We think we are so far away
and can’t reach it..
And then in an instant,
It brings itself to us
filling us with wonderments
of its changes-
We chase it
as it transforms
into an elephant,
a monster,
a flying bird…
and before we know it
our heads are encircled by it
becoming what it is,
and we see what we are
beyond the hills
from a distance.

Our World of Wonderments

Like diamonds on butterfly wings, dew dribbles,
bestowing sparkle to freshly woven spider entanglements
as fireflies glilsten beneath blackened skies

Stardust illusions are sprinkled into our lives
as magical, imaginary unicorns awe and inspire us
to consider unexplainable happenings

Phenomenal musical sounds from breezes that
rustle branches and leaves in enamor us into feelings
of anticipation, desiring more of nature's aura

Birds chirp, bees buzz, as fields of wild flowers open
Their tiny faces smile upward to a new dawn, unveiling
charismatic neon hues

Royal purples, blue green waves and frothy spindrift
gently brush against beaches of pure white sand
as a passionate peacefulness is heard
beneath celestial delilghts that glow in contrast
to a circular orange-yellow melon moon

Like a flying carpet, these tiny miracles bring images
to our thoughts and images, leaving imprints of colors
and sounds in our hearts and minds
Creating an unforgettable world of
charm and wonderment.
