“Is Fashion Modern?” MOMA* asks
And so, in its new show,
The items on display are there
To let us know it’s so.
A pair of Levi’s, baseball caps,
Bikinis and berets,
A Wonderbra, dashikis, kilts
And suits from prior days.
A Rolex watch, Adidas, Nikes,
Mao jackets, too,
A leotard by Danskin,
Polo shirts (but not J. Crew).
Lipstick, flip flops, saris, Speedos,
Ties, stilettos, Spanx,
Jumpsuits, hoodies, Snuglis
(For which new moms owed their thanks).
My friend and I did reminisce,
While strolling the exhibit,
About the clothes like those we wore
When age did not inhibit.

Would Joan of Arc be a post office clerk
In the year of two thousand and four?
And Lady Godiver, if we could revive her
Would she mop the kitchen floor?
These heros of history, make my lifestyle a mystery
Such women we shouldn’t ignore
So well in my thirties, with hand cream and nappies
I went down on my knees, despite the dog’s fleas
For a Wonderbra, a fancy new car
And a job that would take me far
Now I’m totally weary, yet it seemed fine in theory
To split myself in two . . . as you do!
But I feel like a martyr, this lark’s a non-starter
And I blame Bodacea and Germaine Greer
For this deep-rooted need to have a career

Aussie Mousse
Do not heed to the woman doing your hair
Mousse Styli santé ' committing one hard stare
Sprays raid every time she speaks Sally & Sheila,
keep your bottle above the temperature peak.
Aussie style, alcohol free verse
All the hairspray in the world
Will never shy away your phat
Splat ‘splat’, your ignorance is fat
Pick up that double chin,
My good friend'
All that blubber!
Will never burns like rubber!
Here is a buck, Color your hair blue
Like the horizon in the sky
That picture on your wall will never do
Something in your right eye' is a lie'
Shed off a few pounds Add some flexible support to your Wonderbra
Your hairs all flaky Your hairs all sticky How about adding,
Aussie to maintain that look?
Your old one's wearing off

~ ~DURING THE RIDE~ ~
high waves sheer lunette
miles of lithium popping haze
air carousels swoon
crisp thrills up up there
mountain cones scaling bite-size
crazed arms touching moon
~ ~ AFTER THE RIDE~ ~

with wonderbra i'm wearing
down my waist, floppy!
(( for S*K*A*T's air balloon ride contest :))
