Wheeling

I sometimes feel
if JC had been broken on the wheel
instead of impaled and nailed to a cross
would Catholics be at a loss
or wave their hand
reeling in a circular motion
in front of themselves
when 'wheeling'
as opposed to 'crossing' themselves
while Trinity words were spoken
and if so clockwise or counter
my best guess is the former
as 'tho sacrificed
counter would imply
(oh no)
the anti-Christ

Premium MemberFree-Wheeling

Found my space to roller skate
Like I did when I was eight ...
Round, round and round the rink
Flashing lights of blue and pink

High above such trivial things
Skating the track of Saturn's rings,
Go, go, they can't catch me now
Once you learn, you never forget how

The music flows from far, far away
Down on Earth where records play,
The stars, they pulsate to the beat
And correspond down to my feet

Bubblegum pop and all the feels
Purple shoelaces and rubber wheels,
Rock my world, let me go back
To neon lights and skies of black

Feelin' like that long lost kid ...
Feelin' things no grownup did ...
Right foot, left foot, I got the pattern
Skating upon the rings of Saturn.

Premium MemberHopping a Freight Train in Wheeling

The freight train puffs a veil of smoke into the night.
The iron rails rumble.
Be still.
Now.
There it is, the engine's call, fading
To the distance.
Between shadows, a lean figure grips tight to the rolling steel,
His pack worn low on his back, and now he's gone
Wholly, into the night.
I stand alone by the coal yard, I do not dare speak
Or move.
I listen.
The train bends away into its own darkness,
And I lean toward mine.

Free-wheeling Through Africa

Just climb onto the back of my Harley
And we shall ride to the songs of Bob Marley,
   In no time at all
   We'll be in Senegal,
Though I might stop for lunch in Kigali.

Farris Wheeling

PLEASE GIVE ME A TICKET, I'M READY, HE SIGHED.
I'M READY TO TAKE THIS FERRIS WHEEL RIDE
I'VE HEARD IT'S THE FASTEST AND TALLEST THAT BE
SO GIVE ME A TICKET TO SEE WHAT'S TO SEE.

RIDING IT'S PETALS UP HIGH AND ALONE
CIRCLING MADLY IT'S BLOOM IS A THRONE
OIL, IT'S PERFUME FOR A SQUEAK AND A SPIN
OH WHAT A FLOWER TO BE RIDING IN

ALL THE WORLD STAYS BELOW LIKE A FAR AWAY DREAM
THAT COMES ZOOMING UP CRAZY LIKE AN INFINITE STREAM
OF COLORS AND MAGIC THAT BLOWS THROUGH YOUR HAIR
EXCITING YOUR SENSES UNTIL IT'S NOT THERE

IT'S A THOUSAND EYED GIANT, A WINKING OLD MAN
TUMBLING YOU HAPPILY ALL OVER THE LAND
COME ON MR. WHEEL, BREAK LOOSE FROM THIS SPACE
I WANT TO GO TRAVELING ALL OVER THE PLACE

WE'LL ZOOM OVER TREES AND BOUNCE ON SOME CLOUDS
AND I PROMISE TO SIT STILL AND NEVER BE LOUD
OH PLEASE MR. WHEEL, I'LL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
AND GREASE YOU AND SHINE YOU RIGHT UP TO THE END

WE'LL SOAR THE WORLD OVER AND COME BACK AGAIN
HAVING SEEN ALL THERE IS IN THIS FABULOUS SPIN
THEN EAT CANDIED APPLES AND NEVER BE SICK
AND BE HOME BEFORE SUPPER ALICKITY SPLIT

When Time Is Surreal

When time is surreal
Everything around you
Spinning like a windmill
As we brake the seal
Knowing what is the best deal
Wheeling our way through this day

Feels like our life is on a pathway
To Replay what we know lives in our hearts
Everything so smooth from the very start
No way this love is coming apart
Love the way you convey
All those wonderful things you say
That you throw my way

That leads to a magical kind of foreplay
Gets our spirit out to play
As our love climbs to heavens way
That takes us awake to a new kind of day
When time stands still
And everything feels so real

Where you know the love you feel
Is alive and very surreal
Knowing in your heart
You have found the best parts
Life is a balance wheel

Leaving us to seal
The love that lives in our hearts
That hooked us from the very start
So we need to play this ever so smart
If we don't want this love to ever come apart

Premium MemberGirl From Wheeling

There was a young lady from Wheeling
West Virginia, that is
Who had a peculiar feeling that
Her boyfriend Jack was cheating

She took it to his Mom
“Mom” she said, “your son Jack
Is really pissing me off.
I'm ready to hit the ceiling.”

“Ya know,” Mom said, “You crack me up.
I'm tickled he goes to your head
He irritates me the same way about you
So I tell him to stay unwed.”

So Mom was the other woman
The young lady from Wheeling suspected
So she lay on her back and considered Mom amd Jack
“I would like to see them dissected!”

Runaway Wheeling Hound

A hound bus in the maintenance garage
But it was the thief thinking in his own barrage
When the workers weren’t around
The Thief stole the bus without making any sound
The Hound’s slogan, “Leave the Driving to us”
The Thief’s slogan, “Steal the Hound Bus being a must”
That is just what happened
Hound bus 7888 was driven from the yard onto New Jersey Turnpike
I-95 bound for anywhere
The Thief’s thought, I-95 was my escape route with no jive
Yet Helicopter Newscast were reporting high above I-95
The Hound bus was chased entire length of the turnpike
But if the NJ Turnpike Police don’t act quick, the Hound Bus could cross the Pennsylvania state line
The Thief knew how to drive that Hound bus, I guess in his prior life, the Thief was part of the company’s us
Yet the chase continued to go on, but not until the Hound bus ran out of gas
The Thief’s driving fast that didn’t last
Well the Thief forgot the gas tank up
The Thief became his own Maxwell house to a finished cup
A Hound bus having its own bite in crime
But justice was served with the Thief doing time.

Cart Wheeling Crystals

Snow flakes
Tapping glass
One by one,
Scraping silence
From the pane of autumn’s stare
Where they gather
In mute reflections,
Like moths to a flame

Blustering into chaotic rhythm
White upon light,
Cart-wheeling crystals
Frozen in free
Falling eddies now
Gathering upon a wind,
In violent whiteout

As a fire stares
Back from beyond the hearth
A sentinel
Of warmth bearing
Witness to fair warning

From an army of
Snow
