Premium MemberOnce Visited by Death

“Nothing can happen more beautiful than death.” - Walt Whitman

Once visited by pain, I begged for it
to leave me be, but it enjoyed its stay.
Merciless it was and unrelenting
until one day as in my bed I lay. . .

I’d gone to sleep; my bed became a boat
surrounded by the dreamy blue of sea.
As if by intuition, I took a plunge.
Deep water welcomingly embraced me.

It pulled me to the bosom of its depths,
and I surrendered as it stole my breath.
My pain was vanishing as with relief
I realized that I was tasting death.

Rubbing Her Back Before Bed

rubbing her back before bed
so glad we made it here
we pray to make it to the next day
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
our bodes begin to relax
in our happy place, we breathe easy
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
though a fan and an air purifier begin their shift,
quiet and silence welcomingly triumph
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
knowing that tomorrow we pack our bags
the upcoming excitement of the next day lures us to a very content sleep
the blessing of felling fully sane inspires us to fully enjoy our time off

Premium MemberWhere Joy Can Live On

The older I get, the faster time goes.
And things seem to scatter wherever wind blows.

I wish I could capture those moments I’ve cherished.
Replay and relive them; alas, they have perished.

They live in my mind, yes, those feelings so good,
but I want to re-FEEL them. If only I could.

I think what I’m saying is that memories
of moments most precious are like a soft breeze.

I feel them a bit, yet like wind, they blow past.
I can’t even make a MEMORY last!

I think of my mom and the party we planned
for her 80th birthday. The day turned out grand.

Her daughters and friends from far away came.
My mom was so stunned, we heard her proclaim:

The way heaven feels, it has to be this!
Tears filled her eyes as we gave her a kiss.

One day, all together, so happy we’ll be.
We’ll all be embraced so welcomingly.

Minutes of happiness will never be gone.
For time will be endless where joy can live on.

Closed Curtain Moments and a Smile

do not fret
i am only a thief when it comes to your heart
i am just greedy when it comes to the rest of you
when i see you walk, especially from behind, freaky feelings consume me
the acutual factual is so much better than the scheme of a dream when it comes to you
sometimes i just sit up at night and wonder what you see in me
i smile a little bit as you turn over on your stomach
my tongue starts to tingle and i feel as if i am breaking out in a sweat
yet i remain the calm, cool, and cute person that i am and practice patience
i know what is good for me....and that is definitely you in a good mood and fully awake
deep inside though, i wanna be a thief in the night and just take you from every beautiful angle
however, i choose the simplicity of admiration because you mean a whole lot more to me than just that
i eventually lay my horny self back down and enjoy the arrangements and the lingering melodies in my head
it lulls me into somewhat of a deep sleep....that is....until i feel a welcomingly familiar movement under the covers....
the rest....is dismissed as pure imagination

Premium MemberWill We Meet Again

I sit quietly watching
As he moves from truck to doorway
My thoughts are filled with anticipation
Will he be a nice person?
Will he be arrogant?
Will he be friendly?

My mind continues to reason
As he walks into the room and turns
Toward me and his last date
Who is a friend of mine
A woman like me only prettier
In my estimation of her

Introduced, finally
He smiles welcomingly
I smile and say hello
We sit beside each other
Listening, whispering, beginning
To know one another

The night passes from dusk
Into dark, starlit spring evening
And we grow into friends
Closely resembling intimacy
Two on the verge of familiarity
My heart beats anxiously
As the night draws to a close

My phone number in his hand
Will we meet again?

Hope: Merge With the Large

money, always, easily slipped
through my fingers
lands that i tried to own also slid
quickly from my hand

the bed i slept in the night
someone else secretly
occupied in the day

the juvenile bird i cuddled
in my bosom
to give warm comfort and a nest
flew away to build her own

my remains too, soon
the fire will consume
leaving, perhaps, my soul
to merge with that larger soul
that welcomingly smiles
from behind the veil
