Rubbing Her Back Before Bed

rubbing her back before bed
so glad we made it here
we pray to make it to the next day
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
our bodes begin to relax
in our happy place, we breathe easy
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
though a fan and an air purifier begin their shift, 
quiet and silence welcomingly triumph
the expressive rain makes the night feel soft

rubbing her back before bed
knowing that tomorrow we pack our bags
the upcoming excitement of the next day lures us to a very content sleep
the blessing of felling fully sane inspires us to fully enjoy our time off

Elizabeth Mccann August 18, 2022 at 3:27 PM The repetition of the lines gives us the stability and kindness that is in this relationship. A nice balance between the progression of the middle lines and enclosing first and last. Elizabeth
